The negative of the afterburner is that it stays on during some of the cool cycle(you can see the red glowing inside/top) and(in my opinion) does not cool roast down as fast. I've used and tested many Behmors(at least a dozen) and they are tough and work as designed. Personally. I choose to NOT use the chaff tray and use an electric air blower to blast away the chaff(a bit messy. But keeps the roaster always clean and makes for a cleaner roast) I also open the door. Here and there to pay attention(does not shut off when on) If you see an error 7 it means you didn't press the[START] button during the 30 second countdown from un30. Rare Marklin Coffee Roaster c. 1860-80--Antique
Again. This is a rare and much sought after piece for an early doll kitchen. Buying roasted, ground coffee is a realatively new thing, speaking historically. Coffee beans were sold green then you took them home and roasted them yourself. My dad used to stir them in a dry frying pan. This is a rare coffee roaster made by Marklin in Germany about 1860-70. It is in beautiful, original condition. There is a blade inside which is turned with the handle on top to keep the coffee from burning. There is a lid on the side which lifts so you can pour in the beans. Measures 5 inches long to end of handle x 2 1/2 across. Packages are guaranteed to be sent within 2 days of payment. I got this awhile ago and just love roasting coffee. Its to cold here to do it in the winter. And now Dr. wants me off coffee. Well here is my roaster for sale what you see is what you will get. I never had the coffee tray to catch coffee I used a tin foil tray. You cant use this in the house as coffee don't smell like coffee when it roasts. comes with 1.25 lbs. of coffee to get you started. The Alpenrost has a 1/2 lb. capacity. Almost 3x the capacity of other home roasters. The Alpenrost is a rotary drum coffee roaster. All others on the market currently are air roasters(or fluid-bed type roasters) The Alpenrost is the only radiant heat/convective roaster. The Alpenrost has a much slower roast time than air roasters(it takes 20 minutes as opposed to an air roaster's 6-8 minute roast) which results in more body in the cup. A loss ... moreof brightness, but perhaps a better roast for espresso. It is quieter than air roasters: they sound like hair dryers.this sounds like a KitchenAid mixer set on a low speed. The flow-through ventilation separates chaff during the roast cycle and keeps the exterior of the machine cool to the touch during roasting. It has one touch roasting with effective chaff collection and removes the coffee from the drum at the end of the roast into a cup at the end of the unit. But I consider it more of the"hobbiest" roaster because you need to attend to some details on this machine: you really MUST weigh out the batches of green beans. 7 oz. of green coffee roasts much darker than 8 oz. of green coffee at the same setting. So a good scale is needed( we have one. Or there are others out there on the market used for postal purposes) But the roaster will roast consistenly with the same weight of green coffee in the drum. I consider the Alpenrost a machine for the dedicated home roaster. Those not afraid of a little smoke(if you don't have any stovetop hood venting-or other venting- I would not recommend this machine!

Fresh Roast SR700 Coffee Roaster with Computer Program Interface
This FreshRoast SR700 was my first coffee roaster. It is perfect for a beginner because it works well with small batches of beans(4 ounces) at a time. You can roast small 4 ounce batches as you experiment with your control of temperature. Time, air flow, cooling and type of bean. It is great for the novice roaster. Also this SR700 has it all over the base model, the SR300 because of the interface. There is a CD with a computer software program that you load into your computer. A USB cable(included) connects the roaster to your laptop. Now you can work as if you are a big time coffee roaster by creating your own program for a roasting"profile" The computer will run your roaster through the steps so that you don't have to do it manually. Better than that, when you find a roasting profile that you like, you can save it on your ... morelaptop and then recall that particular program and use it again whenever you want a similar roast for a similar bean. The green beans are very inexpensive to purchase through mail order. High end gourmet beans that would cost 20+ dollars per pound can be purchased for much much less in their green state. Best of all you get to roast them EXACTLY the way you want them. I am purchasing a LARGER roaster(the Gene Roaster) because so many of my friends enjoy the fresh roasted beans that I need to be able to roast more at a single time. The truth is that this SR700 model is really an intro model for someone who wants to learn the secrets of how to roast coffee. It is FOOLPROOF. This is a nice WearEver popcorn pumper machine. I use these for coffee roasting. This one hasn't roasted coffee. So if your looking for a popcorn popper this will work for you too! On/off switch and butter tray on this one. United States made. This machine has side vents in the popping chamber which is what you need to roast coffee. It has 1250 Watts. It is more powerful than the 1200 Watt Poppery so you are going to get more heat for your roast. Don't be put off by the 2 tone color and funky shape. When roasting coffee you need heat and this one has more power for plenty of heat. The roast/popping chamber is the same as the Poppery. I roast with these machines and they will get your beans as dark as you like. 3 to 3.5 ounces of beans will roast nicely. This is complete. I roast without a lid but the lid is there if you need it. Only Exhaust Pipe and exterior cap as shown in the pictures-Dimensions(6 inch pipe diameter connection to existing roaster. Connection is roughly 3.75 inches at a diameter of 6 inches which connects to the roaster) that is followed by(67 inches long of double walled piping at a diameter of 9.5 inches) then(1.5-2" is the end connection for the exhaust cap) Total length of Pipe excluding the exhaust cap is roughly 72 inches. Welcome. Up for auction is a Vintage Almond Colored 1980's West Bend Poppery II Electric Popcorn Popper. This unit is perfect to make your own Popcorn- or to Roast Your Own Fresh Coffee Beans. This one had a catalog number of 82102(Almond) It is rated at 120V and a powerful 1200 WATTS. This was quality made in the United States by the West Bend Company. The top has two pieces. The top center is a removable cup that allows you to put butter in there and melt it to put on top of your fresh popped popcorn. Condition: It is tested and works as it should. It heats up great and moves the air on the inside just like it is suppose to. The base has no cracks. But it does have discoloration on the front and side. I am unsure what caused it to be that way? The top looks good overall, with a couple of light scuff marks from storage and a tiny hairline ... morecrack on the butter cup part. Overall, it works great but looks bad. This unit has the fins on the inner part to force the air in a circular motion on the inside. This is the style and design that is best suited for the coffee bean roasting. Up for your consideration is this vintage 1970's or 1980's 1500 watt West Bend The Poppery Good working condition. The butter dish has multiple cracks and has been glued back together. So it should not be used to melt butter or the melted butter will drip down into the popper. I recommend using a Presto Hot Topper to melt your butter for a more realistic 1980's popcorn popping experience. The clear plastic top is in good cosmetic condition, and the popper itself is in very good cosmetic condition. It works well, but it seems to vary a bit in speed while it's running, it's kind of hard to describe, so I thought I would make a Youtube video of it. For sale is a classic coffee roaster and afterburner equipment I have used since 2012. This roaster is very easy to operate and control. I am second owner. Used to be in San Luis Obispo at Coffee Connection since it was new in 1990. Roaster is a 1990 Diedrich IR 24 kilo infrared full manual machine. Drum Infrared burners new in 1999. Also replaced transformer 115v-12v. 25-30 lbs. of green beans roasts very consisstant. Roaster built in Orange co. Ca. when Diedrich was in Orange Co. Diedrich Roasters are the American Cadillac Of the coffee roasting. Powder coated green and brown with red pinstriping. Unit operates off of 240 volt 5 amp 60 single phase.min 40,000 btu and max 1,200,000 btu. and unit requires a 5 psi gas service. at Digital display programmable temp. needs to be 1100 deg. F to opereate and meet air quality specs. A eclipse burner seviced by a business in San Diego in January 2014. New PID controller installed in 2014. Afterburner stack removed lid removed. Replaced 4" insulation top half of unit and re insulated lid. has 14" double wall insulated SELKIRK grease ducting enough pipe to go through a 20' ceiling to exhaust out. New top flame temp thermocoupler and flame igniter new too. also have extra 8" selkirk piping for a 12-24 kilo if afterburner is not recomended.
