Ambex 25Kg Coffee Roaster
We have a 25 kilo Ambex drum roaster for sale. We have had the roaster for a couple of years and no longer have a need for it. There is some discoloration where the chaff caught fire in the fire box. Nothing else was harmed in this. It has a Watlow thermocouple controller for bean temperature. As well as a Maxtrol gas valve. It's set up for natural gas currently. Deer Co. made the Royal Coffee Roasters in the 1920s. Scoop is probable for a Royal Coffee Roaster. Overall length is 10½” and the scoop portion is 1¼” wide. The wooden handle is walnut in excellent condition. The nickel plating on the steel scoop is coming off in places and rust is showing through. Hearthware Gourmet Coffee Roaster and Krups Grinder Lot
Hearthware Model 4001 Gourmet Coffee Roaster The Hearthware Gourmet model home coffee roaster is a straight-forward roasting appliance. Similar to the old Sirocco roasters made by Siemens in the'70s and'80s-coffee roasts in a hot air stream and in a glass orb, and chaff is neatly collected in the lid. Like a hot air corn popper. This is a"fluid bed" roaster. The roast profile seems more like a convective process to me than a hot air popcorn popper based on the results. Bean agitation has been orchestrated by dissimilar vent sizes and an eccentricly centered rotation in the bottom plate of the roast chamber. The capacity is 1/2 cup(measurer provided) or 3 oz. by weight. You can get a way with roasting a bit more because Hearthware has apparently upped the fan speed on these newer batches of roasters. But I would not go over ... morea rounded 1/2 cup scoop. Or 4 oz. whichever comes first. Roasts are even and consistent. From bean to bean and roast to roast. Air flow is important for consistency between roasts, so you need to keep the batch sizes the same(with the handy measuring scoop provided) and the chaff screen clean(takes a few seconds to clean with the handy brush included) It's easy to operate and clean. You can alter roast times by simply turning the timing dial mid-roast. There's a 2 minute cooling cycle built in. Total full city roast time including cooling seems to be 8 minutes. Chaff collection is excellent. A few fine chaff particles seem to pass through the lid collector early in the roast but otherwise it's very effective. Why the heck would someone buy the more basic Gourmet? Well. It is straightforward. The Precision is the right machine for 90% of you, but the Gourmet is fast, quicker to dump a batch and start a new one, and its simplicity means all coffee is being treated the same by the roaster-important for cupping. VERY UNIQUE COFFEE BEAN ROASTER, DOME SHAPED DRUM WITH ROTISSERIE ON HEAVY STAND
I have no history on this coffee roaster's origin. My late husband ordered it approx. 15 years ago and had some romantic notion of roasting his own coffee. A great idea. Just too many other interests and hobbies to ever get to check coffee roasting off the list. It was never used after purchase. However, I have held on to this much too long trying to find some information about it. I can say that a lot of research has been done and this thing does NOT have a twin that I can find on the net anywhere! The motor for the rotisserie reads O.V.B.C. Mod. 71G, V.110, W 16, Hz 60. That is all I can find in the way of any markings on the entire apparatus. The stand is made of a very heavy metal and has a bail which fits into a slot on the handle of the rotisserie. The dome would be large enough to generously hold approximately 1 lb of coffee beans ... morewith plenty of air circulation. The dome is a black metal of heavy wt and has some rust which can be cleaned and oiled. It is a great concept and extremely well made. The dome clamps together in the middle and comes completely apart. There is a slide circular window on one half of the done. There are. Of course, no directions, so temperatures for roasting. Times to roast, etc. would be at the discretion of the new owner. The motor turns the roaster freely and is simply bolted onto the shaft. So could easily be replaced should it ever malfunction. Other than the rust. This item would be a very unusual Christmas gift for that Coffee aficionado who has everything. Or for that coffee puritan who wants to roast their own. Dome is 8 1/2" in diameter. Width with the rotor is 16" Ht sitting on the base/stand is 12" tall. Totally functionable as well as decorative. IF anyone out there has any info on the origin. Diedrich IR 2.5 In-Store Coffee ROASTER
This is a very slightly used Diedrich IR 2.5 In-store Roaster. We bought it to open a small roasting company and. Well, it stayed small. We opened a coffee house that we supplied for and that was about it. It is an absolute dream of a roaster. It has been well-maintained and well-loved. But we are moving and have closed both businesses. I can NOT move it by myself. So it is a local pickup ONLY. Brand new from Diedrich. This machine costs $9500. It was manufactured in 2011 and has seen very little use since then. I am including the table, the ducting, the cleaning kit, and the propane tanks, as well. Those run over $1000 new. Up for bid is a used but well maintained. Perfectly functioning Behmor 1600 coffee roaster. This is nearly identical to theBehmor 1600 plus, but has a lighter, more efficient chaff tray. Compared to the newer model, this one can heat up quicker due to the lighter thermal mass of the chaff tray, giving you more consistent roasts. This was purchased in 2009 and used lightly for a couple years before going into a box in the basement. It is incredibly easy to use and you can even roast inside.
