To the top of the lid it measures 20" The dia. of the lid measures approx. 12 3/8" The barrel looks to be made of maple or hickory or some other kind. I am not certain. The heavy galvanized metal liner appears to be in nice condition. I never tested it with water to see if it leaked or not. I am selling this very nice cooler for display purposes. If someone chose to use it, I would suggest using a plastic liner just in case it ever did leak, it wouldn't stain the wood underneath. The wheels are steel with hard rubber tires. By simply pulling a cotter pin, you can remove the iron handle. There is a label on the front that looks like it reads: Santig Danville ILL. On the brass plate are the enitials R.P.H.
