This is an antique pencil sharpener made by Automatic Pencil Sharpener Company. Patents include October 2. 1906, May 26, 1908 and July 18, 1911. others pending) This dates it circa 1911. This was acquired by my grandfather from a one-room schoolhouse, Sunnyside school in Ringo township near Holt, MN. My grandfather ran into the schoolhouse before it was demolished. He attended this school. This item is in exceptional condition for its age. It's mounted on its original base. The base has 4 cork feet. Patents and rights are still 95% legible on side of drawer. You won't find a better piece of its kind! There has only been two owners of this antique- the school and my family. This sharpener is in 100% working condition- I just sharpened a pencil with it today. Original base- rare find! Over 100 years old!
