Here is a white tile with brown art work from the Victorian Era(the close up photo is closest to the actual color) It has a large picture of an Iris and its buds and leaves. It is a 6" by 6" tile. Marked England on the back. There are also numbers on the back: 5050(in red) 0, and 91. There is a piece of paper taped on the back that gives this information: H. Richards 1902- 09. The dates 1902- 09 is also written in pencil on the back. The on damage that I can see is a chip on a petal of one of the side flowers. It is the one on the right as you look at the picture. Again, please look at the close up photo to see it. It blends in on the larger pictures, but it is there. Please look carefully at the photos for the best idea of condition and design. Up for auction is a lovely. Hand painted, ceramic tile. Not including the frame, it measures 7 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. It features an old European village street scene, with a few people, and a dog drawn cart. The bottom right corner is signed by the artist, G W. The back of the tile has a W stamped on it. The frame is nice, but if you look closely at photo#5, you'll see that the tile is not really secure in the frame. Cow Ceramic Collectable Bank
This cute cow has just been standing on a shelf- never even had any money in him. He's about 7-1/2" tall and 4-1/2" at his widest. The slot for coins is on the back of his head. The colors in the photo are pretty accurate. Except that the bell on his color is less orange than in the photo- has more of a brown color. He's in excellent condition and still has his rubber stopper so you can use him for a bank. He was part of my kitchen cow collection, but I've got to weed some out! This auction is for A VERY LOVELY AND UNUSUAL LOT OF CHILDREN'S DISHES. MINUET BY SALEM CHINA. I think these were made in the 1930's or 40's. The lot includes: 3 cups and saucers. Creamer and sugar, 3 plates and the cutest little cake plate. The cake plate is approx. 8 inches wide from handle to handle and the plates are 6 1/2 inches wide. The sugar has 2 old flakes on the bottom(see pic) and the creamer has a flea on the underneath of the spout(not that noticable) They do have some rough edges. Probably occurred during manufacture. There is some age crazing. These were made as children's toys and not the same quality as the adult version of this pattern. Antique statue- measures 13 inches tall- very old and fragile and worn- comes from Old Chinatown that used to exist in Kelowna. British Columbia, Canada From Living Landscapes website- Royal BC Museum- Thank you THE CHINESE: Early 1900s- 1930s The presence of Chinese migrants was felt strongly in the interior of British Columbia at the turn of the century. Their large numbers led to the creation of thriving Chinatowns in many towns. Gint Cawston was one of the original settlers in the Similkameen Valley. Next to the Okanagan, and gave his name to the village of Cawston, just outside of Keremeos. He recalled how the Chinese community of Keremeos maintained their customs and way of life. This part of town was always known as"Chinatown" and here customers could only buy silks and Chinese goods.
