Heavy Duty Deep Wire Grooved Amber Swirled B Beehive Antique Glass Insulator
Up for bids on this page is a heavy duty Brookfield B CD145 beehive insulator with some awesome amber swirling in both the dome and skirt. From a distance one would think this insulator was a dark green color. With closer inspection one can see it does have an aqua base color. The seperation between that base color and the amber is really nice. My pics do not give the amber swirling all the justice it deserves but I'm sure you can see most of it well enough in my pics. Also notice the three vent drip points that remain on the inner skirt. My observations(base on my experience with Brookfield Beehives) I say heavy duty on account it is the largest CD145 that Brookfield made and heavier then most B insulators. Plus this one has an very generous amount of glass in the dome which does have something to do with the overall weight. You may ... morealso have noticed I mentioned the deep wire groove on this insulator. I have a couple of other B's listed at this time. If you look at the pics from those auctions I'm sure you'll see the difference between their wire grooves and this insulators. This is quite a rare thing for this type(EIN) of B. There is another style that always has a deep groove but this one is not that one. This insulator also has the B embossed right up against the wire groove. Usually the B's are embossed anywhere centered on the skirt to at least 1/2" down from the wire groove. Round Dome Square Wire Ridge Brookfield CD161.2 Glass Insulator
INFO: Here's an unusual CD you don't run into very often. This auction is for a CD 161.2 signal style insulator. That's correct. Not the typical CD 162.1, but a 161.2 with the weird rounded dome above a thick, square edge, upper wire ridge. Very unusual. The color is a medium Aqua. I purchased this unique dude from Brian Riecker in 2003. EMBOSSING: It is Embossed"BROOKFIELD" across the front skirt. And a small dot on the top of the dome. CONDITION: This insulator has an inch long series of small. Shallow flake chips along the skirt edge, just behind the right side mold line, and some minor abrasions on the dome near the top. I also noticed a small match head size flake along the upper wire ridge, plus a pencil point tick on the shoulder of the lower wire ridge. Perhaps it sounds a bit worse than it is, but I'm trying ... moreto be conservative. I rate this one VNM- condition. Bid with confidence. I have 100% feedback for more than 10 years for a reason. WHITALL TATUM NO 1 61-47 USED BUT PERFECT CLEAR GLASS RR INSULATOR WITH WIRE
RAILROAD INSULATOR WITH WIRE This is a near perfect clear glass railroad insulator taken from the flooded out lines in PA in the eighties. It is a WHITALL TATUM NO 1 61-47. The glass is clear but is like looking through thick glass. It was taken down by cutting the wires. Which I believe are copper since that have a green patina. I do not see or feel any rough spots or chips. This is about as good as it is going to get for a used insulator.

Rare Glass Insulator w/Many Air Bubbles Original WIRE & WRAP WIRE ON INSULATOR
Very rare Star glass insulator w/ many air bubbles and very unique cold line pattern caused by glass cooling at different rates during molding process. PLUS IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL PIECE OF LINE WIRE AND WRAP AROUND WIRE THAT LOOKS TO BE GALVANIZED. Spec. Star embossed on front Measures 3 3/8" tall and 2 3/8" in diameter Two toned color(looks like Seven Up bottle green) with lower skirt being lighter in color Bottom is smooth Must look at all photos to appreciate. Has some chips and cracks. Some of the cracks seem to be internal occurring during manufacture. It also has several air bubbles in the glass on the sides and in the dome. It has a cold line that runs from the top diagonally down from the top. Curls back about a 1/4 in under the wire and runs over to the mold seam.
