These were used with an Ademco home alarm system but they will work with any wired home alarm system that can use glass breakage sensors. They can be wired direct or in conjunction with open window contacts as shown. They work on a mercury switch inside the round detector much like a thermostat for heat. If the glass is broken the round detector falls and triggers the alarm. They are also adjustable so you won't have any false alarms.
