WWII PERIOD GI'S SHIELDS OF FAITH POCKET NEW TESTAMENT STEEL PLATED COVER
This is an original"Shields of Faith" pocket New Testament. Protestant. King James Version. These were produced for familys at home to mail to their soldier loved ones in the field during World War II. There is a forward by the Commander In Chief and President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It has a steel plated cover(likely to be carried in the chest pocket with the intention of stopping a bullet. Making it commonly known as a"heart shield" Bible) and has been well kept for a lot of years. The unused, original mailing box is in pretty good condition, but has some wear from age and likely use. It has a couple tears in the flaps on one end, held closed with scotch tape. The flaps on the other end are missing. The leather cover and outer edge of the Bible edge are in very good condition, and there is still the nice red color at ... morethe outer edges of the leafs. The inner binding has come away as you can see in the photo, and the folds and two short tear areas at the bottom are from being pressed to the a flap inside the mailer. WELCOME TO MY PAGE UP FOR AUCTION: ANTIQUE SILVERPLATE COVERED DISH BY TABER& TIBBITS The featured items represents an oval silverplated serving dish that measures approximately 11 1/4" x 8 1/2" across and 1 1/2 tall without the cover. The dish comes with a matching lid with two side handles. The top of the cover is etched with a monogram but not sure of the letters. The bottom of the piece is stamped with an image of a drum instrument surrounded by the letters T&T EPNS. The last stands for electroplated nickel silver and T&T for Taber and Tibbits Inc. Not much is known about the company besides that the silversmiths were in business from 1919 until 1941 in Wallingford CT and it was named after its owners Robert Hershel Taber and Charles Henry Tibbetts. The pattern or model number"2855" is also marked on the ... morebottom. The item come in well-preserved condition for its age with no dents or other major surface damages with small patina and tarnishing. Some random scratches and dings. There are also some spots. Mainly on the inside that look like silverplate washout. I've tried to capture the flows on the pictures so pay close attention and don't hesitate to ask for additional information. Atmos Clock Part, Gold Plated Glass Case/Cover for 528-6.
This is a very nice. Solid glass case/top for the Jaeger leCoultre Atmos Clock, caliber 528-6. There are no cracks in the bezel's corners as sometimes occurs over time and the gold plating, while not perfect, is still pretty spectacular. There are some dull spots which might come out with polishing(I did not attempt this) as can be seen in the photos. Greetings! For sale today is this wonderful silver plated Artley piccolo. I do not play piccolo so I cannot attest to the playability of this instrument. The pads look old but may or may not work. The keys seems to work. Again. I have no idea what I'm looking at. Give me a clarinet and I can talk for an hour about it. But give me a piccolo and I don't know a thing! The case is broken but I"fixed" it with Gorilla Tape. The toughest tape on planet earth. Th case goes inside a zippered case cover that holds the case together very well. I did a slight polishing of the instrument. And most of the plating is still there. The is just a few spots on the most commonly used keys where plating is worn off. But could probably be polished to a high shine should one so desire. There are some slight scratches from normal use, but no corrosion, loss of silverplate, dings or chips in the glass insert. Measures 8" x 4 1/2" x approximately 3 1/2" tall with the lid. Marked on the bottom with the trademark 1883 F.B. Here is a nice antique style brass plated keyhole cover- or escutcheon to replace missing ones on your dresser drawers or cabinet doors. These are unused old stock with original finish. They are in original packaging with brads for attaching.This item is vertical- see similar if Horizontal shape is needed. These keyhole covers have a neat design around the outer rim which will blend well with almost any furniture style. They measure 1-1/4" across. And are 1-1/2" high. The keyhole is 5/8" in height. Vintage Silver Plated Butter Dish-Revolving Cover 1900-20
Pretty vintage(1900-1920's) silver plated butter dish with revolving top. The top has very nice decorations and there is piercing all around the base of the dish which is set on a fancy pedestal. There are the little pins with chains that you use to keep the top secure. There are some spots where the silver has worn on the bowl base but the top is very nice. I have had this for a long time and it did not come with a glass insert of any kind. A pretty piece for the dining shelf. Or you can actually use it to serve butter elegantly!
