The strap knob was neatly carved out of wood in the shape of a head with a face on each side& painted red with black hair. Painted eyes& mouth. It was mounted separately into the flat plug. The whole inside curved surface of the horn is covered with designs that have been outlined in small brass& metal tacks. There are two banners, both outlined in brass tacks with metal tacks for the wording. One reads"H.E. ... moreGearhart" the other"Life Member S.A.R. which stands for Sons of the American Revolution. The inner designs between the two banners look to be good luck symbols& include a horse shoe with a horse head in the center with a black glass bead eye& color decoration, a shield, heart, spade, diamond, a heart with an arrow or crown on top. The large end is banded with a strip of hand cut brass secured by many small brass tacks. The backside of the horn has a hand cut brass mounting plate for display that is secured with 3 brass screws& has old glue? residue. This horn was appraised on NBC-2's"Trash Or Treasure" along with an inlaid Kentucky long rifle by professional appraiser Jack Minish back in 3/21/09. He estimated this powder horn to be from the 1830's& worth between $500.00- $700.00. The appraisal use to be on Youtube. But unfortunately is not any more& I didn't make a copy. Measures overall approx. 13" long in a straight line from the top of the carved head/ knob to the tip of spout& has a 3.5" x 2.5" diameter oval flat plug. Turner RFX size 17" in a custom orange metallic paint scheme with 6" of travel. It has a Fox Talas 36mm fork with 160mm of travel that is adjustable to 130 or 100mm of travel the fork is missing the knob on the bottom of the left leg which controls the compression which is still adjustable using a set of plyer or buying a new knob for 12 dollars. The frame has a DHX 5.0 rear shock with propedal which is a coil over with air adjustablity for the propedal. The bike is out fitted with shimano deore XT rear derailleur, deore front, XT brakes, shifters and levers. It has a Thompson stem, seatpost, chris king headset, carbon bars, Forte wheels with Kenda nevagal tire on the rear and a blue groove on the front. This bike is a 9 speed cassette and shifters and rides like a dream. I wouldn't sell it except I have a 2008 RFX as well and ... moreit is a pound lighter than this one. Wonderful bookends depicting a Renaissance minstrel strumming his lute. The figures are cast in gray metal and given celluloid faces. They sit on marble(I think) bases. No maker's mark. But the Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends attributes these to J B Hirsch, circa 1925. The figures are secured to their bases by screws which can be seen in the bottoms. The figures are secured firmly, without wiggle. Condition is mint. No damage whatsoever to the figures. Nothing bent, dented, broken off or glued back on. Many of these bookends lost their celluloid components over the years, but not so with these. Also worth noting: the noses are fully intact. And finally, the bases themselves are free of chips. Vintage 80's Fat Chance Bicycle Custom Paint
This bike was my first purchase after graduating from college in 1987. The components have all been replaced from riding through the 80's and 90's with the same or better than original. The paint job is one of a kind and original. I put on a larger big chainring to pedal downhill faster. It flies downhill and climbs like a champion. This bike is super fun to ride and has a very unique look. It was given a tune-up a few years ago and works like new. Turns out being 6'5" is too tall for the frame. If you're in the range of 5'10" to around 6'1" you'll fit just fine. This bike is really fun to ride. I want this bike to go to a good home and be used by someone who will love it like I did. The color is a Sunset Metallic and there is a paint chip ding on the top edge about where your right arm would cross. Detailed explanation is as follows. I bought an advertised 2011 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS loaded body from the Big Strat parts Seller here on Ebay back in 2012. Really just for the HSS configured N3 loaded pickguard and hardware.Seemed to be in like new condition with the exception of two things. One is a very shallow ding that had caused the paint to chip off, location is top ... moreedge about where your arm would cross) and a pickguard screw hole thats larger than it should be. the one above the neck pickup body cavity) When I removed the HSS pickguard and hardware I discovered an HSH route and a Beck stamp. I believe that Fender has been using the HSH route on many of its latest American Deluxe, Jeff Beck, and new Select Stratocaster models. I myself would repaint or spot paint the 50 cents size damaged area unless your one of those people that goes for the worn look.
