Pair Small Pottery Bowls Hold Miniature Kitchen Scenes/Dioramas~Puebla. Mexico From a local estate. This auction offers a pair of older small pottery bowls made in Puebla, Mexico. Puebla is both a state of the nation of Mexico and the capital city of that state, founded in 1531. It is the 4th largest city in Mexico and is known for its architecture, ceramics, and pottery. Each of these little bowls hold miniature kictchen scenes/dioramas which are amazing in their detail. The bowls themselves measure approximately 3 5/8" across(not including the handles on one bowl) x 1 3/4" deep. I believe they are made with the local black clay and then painted to resemble terra cotta. The miniature items each holds are amazing in their detail. There are two women in each scene along with wooden table/chairs(table is missing from bowl with handles) ... moretiny wooden hutches holding even tinier plates, pitchers, teapots, clocks, cook pans, etc. The front below each miniature scene is painted to look like bricks/stones and marked"Puebla. They have been displayed but remain in very good condition- as stated above the bowl with the handles is missing its wooden table as well as a wooden shelf on the wall, but there are no other flaws I can see. Vintage Wall Pocket shaped like a Watering can or teapot. White with hand painted flowers and a 3 D rose and ribbon. Very nice. This wall Vase is about 4" wide and 4" tall. and the bad news: The bow and leaves all have the paint wore off and cleaning it was making it worse. it seems the paint was after the glaze and firing. i have found a few pieces like this. The rose has a very small part chiped out I have cleaned up some but i find the more aggressive i clean. The more paint comes off, so i hesitate to clean too deeply to damage. I believe there may be ways to clean without damage and they are time consuming. I would rather get things listed so you can have a great selection at great prices! Vintage Jadite Green Salt Shaker Made by Jeannette Glass Co. This is a sweet vintage salt shaker. It shows signs of wear due to its age. The black lettering is still bold and clear with minimal fading. No chips. Cracks, crazing or staining on the shaker. The puffy metal lid is original and has the usual dings and dents. Please note that half of the bottom metal ring has worn off and left a jagged edge. The lid still screws off and on easily. This is a great lot of 9 vintage cottage chic painted glasses. There are 9 in all. And 2 different sizes. There are 3 glasses that are 6" tall, and 3" across top. There are 6 glasses, that are 5.5" tall, and 3" across the top. I missed photographing one of the 5.5" ones, and the photo shows 5 glasses in that size, but there are actually 6. So, you are getting a total of 9 vintage glasses, probably from 1950s. The design on them is sort of Pennsylvania Dutch Folk ARt, with tulips, hearts, coffee pots, coffee grinder, trivets, spoons, and tea kettle, and oil lamp. No chips or cracks. There is some cloudiness in the glass, so be aware of that. Not sure how to remove that. Maybe some CLR- Will leave that up to the new owner. The bowl is smooth of the inside and ribbed on the outside except for the Footed Area and the top 2" of smooth glass to the rim of the bowl. Brings a little bit of the old into the new yet blends well as amber in this shade is able to contrast well or help to accent your other pieces of dinneware. This is the third in a series of 4 Blue Willow towels that reflect the grace and beauty of the china pattern. This design 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"The white towel is 16" x 27" The embroidery(done by me. Embroidering on towels is somewhat tricky because of the pile and thickness of the towel. The embroidery compresses the loops of the towel under the thread. Any embroidery on any towel looks great when it's done. But the proof comes when the towel is washed. The loops, especially around the design, become"fluffed up" with washing and drying and can obscure portions of the design. The thicker the towel(longer loops) the ... moreworse the problem can become. Many of my designs are very detailed and I tested towels extensively before beginning to sell them. I knew the initial reaction of people to the embroidery was important. But I also wanted the towel and the designs to hold up after use. For that reason, the towels I use are not extra thick plush towels. At the same time, they are not thin, cheap dollar store towels. They are of medium weight with a low pile that shows off, and will continue to show off, the embroidery to the greatest extent possible.
