VINTAGE / ANTIQUE BICYCLE REAR REFLECTOR - c/w original fittings - around 1910
T his is a true antique! A rear reflector. From around 1910, complete with fittings. It's an unusual reflector, screwing through your rear mudguard and onto the backplate placed behind the mudguard, shown in the gallery photo. It is a lovely shape and, although obviously there is tarnishing to the surround, this is really only to be expected, I suppose, for a reflector which has experienced a hundred years of English weather! There is a crack to the lens. Which I mentioned in the section beneath the title, but the lens is intact and not loose at all and it is beautifully faceted. It will make a unique addition to your bicycle. I shall be pleased to answer any questions you may have and thank you for taking the time to look at the reflector.

Vintage Moro Barong/ Barung sword with scabbard. Now check out this monster of a barong from the people of the phillipines. Has a weighty blade mounted in ornately carved fittings. That have stayed intact(many of these the delicate tips of the grip often get broken off) Beautifull local hardwood used for the handle is showing a lovely patina. The blade is thick, and the whole thing is rock solid and has no movement or looseness. The scabbard is thick and nicely carved. Be carefull when handling/ mountng as the blade will slip from scabbard when wrong side up. Blade is just shy of 18 inches long and is well formed with a nice uniform thickness and shape. This unusual claret jug has a flowing melted look. In the shape of elongated scallops all around the body. It is topped by silver plated fittings. Including a handle and a hinged top covering the spout. It measures 11” to top of finial and 6” handle to spout. The glass forming the body of the jug is in excellent antique condition. The silver plate has some subtle dark spots. Although they are too small for us to be able to photograph them. There is also a small ding to the top of the handle where the finial rests. As well. The finial shows some plate loss around its edge where the brass shows through. Any dark or bright spots not mentioned previously are reflections in photography. Two Jian Swords: Handmade Cast Fittings Stone Inlay Antique Vintage Chinese
This auction includes the two Jian swords show in the photos above. Details: I bought these in a package with several other swords. I do not study tai-chi anymore or know much about the Jian as a weapon. I like swords of any variety but my better half is motivating me to reduce the size of my collection. My personal interests are in Japanese blades so I am selling these swords and some others on e-bay. The blades seem to be hand made out of some type of carbon steel. They are flexible and not sharp. The scabbard and handle seem to be cast metal. I don't know what kind of metal but they have some nice detail in them. And there are stones mounted to the scabbard. I don't know what kind of stones they are but one looks like tigers eye. I don't think these were intended as functional blades but they do not rattle when I swing them. ... moreThey would probably work well for practice but I believe their intent was decoration. I do no't know who made these and I can not identify any makers mark on the blades. If you have questions please let me know I will do my best to answer them. Long Sword Overall- 39" Handle- 8" Blade- 27 1/2" Short Sword Overall- 33 3/4" Handle- 8" Blade- 24 1/4" Condition: Blade:Both blades have some minor oxidation on the blade. I don't know what kind of steel it is but the fact that it rusts quickly suggests that it is not stainless. Both blades are flexible and have some minor bends or twists in them. They seem to bend back easily but I did not want to risk making it worse. I figured I would let the new owner decide what to do with them. Scabbards: The scabbards show signs of age but nothing too bad. One scabbard can come apart and expose the wood underneath of you pull at either end. It slides back together easily. Handle: The handles seems fixed tightly. Neither one of the blades rattle when moving. Shipping: I will ship free to the continental US. Other parts of the US will have a small shipping fee. 17th Century Antique Japanese Wakizashi / Katana sword in fittings, fine tsuba
My pride and joy- A fine late 17th century Japanese wakizashi. Completely original late 1600's/ early 1700's blade in great polish with no fatal flaws. The blade is in a quite rare/ uncommon shobu zukuri style. This is not a cut down Katana. Instead it was in my opinion forged as a wakizashi and would have been part of a pair of daisho(katana and wakizashi) worn by the samurai of yore. The blade has cutting edge of about 14 inches. Blade is about 1.5 inches wide at the widest point. and the tang measures approx 4.2 inches. In its saya, the total length is 23.5 inches long. It has an irregular hamon that covers the length of the blade with no flaws and shows nice activity. Which could enhanced with just a basic touch up polish done by a professional(something i neither have the money or contacts here in the UK to arrange myself) The ... moreis in very good condition for a 300+ year old blade. There are some minor openings along the spine of the blade but they are minimal, look worse in the pictures than they do in the flesh, and are not fatal flaws. The blade is not'tired' and could take another polish. The edge is razor sharp and has no nicks/ chips that i can see with the naked eye. There is no rust/ pitting. The nakago has not been tampered with and has a nice even oxidization. The koshirae are nice but kind of a mixed bag. The tsuba is very nice. With nice carving and gold embellishments and certainly has much age(1800's? though dating tsuba is beyond a novice like me. The tsuka is rock solid, the whole blade has no movement within its mounts. The tsuka has a tight and well done green ito wrap with fully intact same showing some nice nodes. This obviously again has age. The copper menuki, and the horn kashira(spellings? are obviously later additions however. The habaki is a quality one, nicely done in thick gold foil(which is starting to crack slightly along the edge on one side) The saya is in good condition with black laquer(that has suffered some minor paint chips over its life. not many and aga
