This is a black paper-based water-resistant tape with a natural rubber adhesive which is ideal for the repair/replacement of missing. Cracked, or damaged binding tape on glass magic lantern slides. This tape can also be used for blocking out unwanted portions of an image(such as the borders) to get a cleaner projection image for your slides. This tape provides moderate resistance to UV light(although slides probably don't need UV protection at the edges where binding tape is used) This tape can easily be torn by hand(but perfectionists will want to use scissors to get clean cuts) PLEASE NOTE: When repairing lantern slides. Many people try to match the original tape used. In my experience, paper-based tapes like this one are the most common style of tape used for magic lantern slides. This tape is very similar. UNUSED PINK RIBBON& GRAY SEAM BINDING ON THEIR ORIGINAL PAPER ROLLS! Unused antique ribbon and seam binding yardages on their original paper rolls. Likely late 1800s to early 1900s. We have not taken them off their rolls to measure but there is generous yardage. The 1/2" gray is labeled as seam binding, rayon and silk taffeta, 3 yards, and the roll looks full. The 3/8" pink is actual ribbon with a satin weave, seems to be silk but fiber is not marked, burn test indicates silk content, may be all silk. Yardage is ... moregenerous but uncertain- the number 9 is penciled on the roll where it says"Clio" Condition is excellent and unused. Wonderful for doll clothing and crafting generally.
