AO American Optical American Spectacle Safety Goggles Steampunk Glasses Mesh
I am proud to present these vintage pair of American Optical Spectacle side shield goggles. The American Optical company started in the late 1800's and is best known for their opticals that they supplied to the troops in both WWI and WWII. These are a great piece of the American Optical history. These were most likely designed for welders or someone who worked in the industrial age. Pair of these goggles does not come around often. The lens's are clear glass and have mesh shields on the sides. The unique hinges on this piece allow the ear wrap around the front of the goggles. A rubber/plastic like covering is over the curved ear pieces. In the covering there are green markings up and down them. Between the lenses is a metal nose pad. Overall. This pair of American goggles is in amazing condition, no scratching on the lenses, mesh ... moreis nice and tight; mechanisms are in order and look pretty clean. Marks, scratches, blemishes on the frames and the lenses. the arms are bowed out, and bent out of shape. I don't know if they can be straightened out or not. These have clear glass, and I can't tell if they are prescription or not. Everything looks blurry when I try them on, and the buyer should go on the assumption that the lenses will have to be replaced if they intend to wear them. The frames are about 5.5" long across the top, and near the hinge, there is about 5.25" of space between the arms. THIS IS AN UNUSUAL& EXCEPTIONAL PAIR OF YELLOW GOLD OXFORDS. I CAN NOT FIND ANY MARKING ON THESE. THEY ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THEY HAVE AN OCTOGONAL SHAPE AND HAVE METAL NOSE PADS. OXFORDS CAME ONTO THE SEEN IN THE LATE 1800'S AND WERE POPULAR UNTIL AROUND 1930. THEY WERE A LARGER VERSION OF THE PINCE-NEZ STYLE BUT DIFFERENT IN THAT THEY HAD THE LONG BOWED TOP BAR RATHER THAN THE SPRING COILED BRIDGE. THESE HAVE A METAL LOOP ON THE RIGHT EYEWIRE TO ATTACH A CHAIN TO. Up for auction is an American Optical AO Spencer Series 25 Stereo Microscope Base. The unit is in decent physical condition with some normal signs of wear including light scratches and dings. There is a small chip on the far outer part of the left ocular(the dark area on the right-inside of the ocular. Fourth photo) it seems like it wouldn't affect the performance and might not even be visible once eyepieces are installed. The glass base is gone and the elbow on the bottom is loose. No eyepieces included. This type of equipment is beyond our expertise so we may not have mentioned everything that is included or missing from the unit. AN6530 Goggles Single Cushion Clear Lenses...American Optical.... WWII
World War II era Model AN6530 American Optical airman’s goggles with spring loaded metal hinged frames. One-piece face-pad. Cream elastic head-strap. And clear glass lenses. The metal frame has a pair of cylinders to each side at the top outside of the lens frame. They look like mounting points of some kind. The other goggles I see offered have a vent in this location. The frames are stamped"AN6530" on the nose-piece. The metal is still bright with perhaps just a little patina. The rubber pad is clean and pliable and chamois backing is clean. The head-strap still has elasticity and is clean and flexible. The lenses are in extremely good condition. These were a gag gift to my dad in the 1960's and in all likelyhood are unused military surplus from that time.

Up for sale is a EARLY 1900's pair of Vtg Steampunk Motorcycle Safety Glasses Goggles- No marks On the earpieces. The frames need cleaning up. The lenses have some spotting, and scratches the cable ear temples are covered in original leather but do show a few marks but are in tact. You can replace the lenses with new glass safety lenses at most optical stores. Glass is still available. Pair of American Optical 580 Stereo Microscopes
Pair of American Optical model 580 stereo microscopes. Both of these units will take some service to bring back to functionality. I think all mirrors and lenses are fairly clean. However I can not comment on the interior lenses. I do know that both units have good plastic zoom gears and the zoom is smooth and continuous from 1X to 6X. The zoom gears are notorious on this microscope to go bad, so these could be used to repair another unit. These scopes can be brought back to life or used for parts microscopes. It appears to be missing a piece that attached under the eye lens and the bulb is burnt out but power is flowing to it. Pic is with a regular bulb plugged in it and working.
