These brightly colored fish are illustrated on both sides and will stand on a flat surface. The large fish measures 15 3/4 inches long, 6 3/4 inches tall and in 3/4 of an inch thick. It has a different village scene on both sides. The other 3 fish feature birds and animals. ... moreThe measure 12 inches long, 5 1/2 inches tall and are 7/8 of an inch thick. These ones are illustrated on both sides as well. The fish have no stains, cracks or repairs, but they do have a few flaws. There is paint missing from the tips of some of the fins, some scratches and scuffs, and a couple of nicks along the bottom of 2 of the fish. There are small holes drilled through the fish, probably to hang them. None of these issues take away from the beauty of these fish. This is a brightly colored. Vintage, traditional, Barro Pintado, painted clay, pottery, fish shaped platter from Guerrero, Mexico. This unglazed platter is shaped like a fish and painted with a village story theme- colorful trees, stylized flowers, cacti, mountains, a leaping jack rabbit and fish in the ocean, all festively patterned, in shades of pink, blue orange, green, accented with white, red, black, brown, and ochre. It measures approximately 13.75" L x 9"H.The back is unglazed, red clay. There are holes in the top, it's strung for hanging as wall decor. It is signed by the artist, Martinez, and the year'96 on the tail. It is in very good, gently used condition, with only one chip at the top close to the eye( see Photos) which blends in pretty well with the painted clay, The platter comes from a tobacco free home.

Thus, leaving him two scars to sport around as souvenirs of his life saving operation. He also had to be revived back to life two times during the surgery. I am happy to say that the operation was a success and he just celebrated his 10th Birthday, recently. He is a strapping, beautiful, male African lion who shares his home with"Shanie" a female lion. Vintage 1923 National Geographic Book Story of the Horse, Birds, Fish
Vintage National Geograhpic Book and it's Volume 44. July-Dec 1923. The book was from the public library in Orleans. Nebraska and does have some minor wear on the covers. I did not check to make sure every page was in the book or check every page for damage. I will be listing several books over the next few days and no problem combing books for savings on shipping.
