Up for your consideration a tin wind up old boat that has been brought to display condition with only the really bad changed. The front deck had to be repainted and the light on the front deck is not original.Repainted. The light on the front deck is not original. I will include a spot light of good quality if you want to take it off and replace. I had to rebuild the rudder and guard. The motor does work great with no binding in the wind up and runs for a long time, stand is included. This looks like a Lionel reproduction and the stand is duplicated to that specification. Manufactured by The Mengel Company. Incorporated Louisville, KY. Original catalog describes this boat like this ~"Motor Boat- A reproduction of a real speed boat. 14 1/2 and 18 inches long. Genuine mahogany hull. Brass fittings. Unsinkable. Motor runs 200 feet at a winding. All original parts and decals. Missing small brass tack nails on top wooden piece of hull. Weighs 1 1/2 lbs. Mahogany Hull is solid and whole ~ has vintage play marks. Outer lacquer on hull still shines and is not pealing. Brass parts show age discoloring. This Wind Up Circus Motor Cycle with clown is all tin except for the 2 rubber tires. It measures 6" long x 4" high. The Tin Litho is clean and bright. The wind up mechanism works great. Upon winding its fixed key. The motorcycle goes forward, trips a lever on the bottom which comes down and makes the bike spin around and change direction and continues forward again. U-Turn" It has comic circus on the gas tank and 5516 on the back license plate. The toy is marked"Made In Japan" on the bike down below the key. The condition is nr. mint/mint. The toy shows no sign of wear. It is bright and shinny. The Litho is superb. There is hardly a mark on it. All the tabs are there and untouched. It is a little big in height and width but stores the toy nicely with the top sitting on loosely. Not to force and damage the top. Both the box top and bottom have all its staples intact. No. 52 RACE CAR Made in the United States by J. Chein and Company in the 1940's. Measures 6 1/2 long and is of all lithographed tin construction. Bold colors of red and yellow with black highlights. Includes the driver with his leather helmet. In about Very Good condition, has definitely been played with but not badly abused. The wind-up motor works and there are rubs and scrapes to some of the high spots as well as light corrosion to the under side. A couple chunks are missing from the front left wheel and a small ding or two to the rears.
