According to Sprague history(link provided) GE started manufacturing his invention in 1890) Google edisontechcenter FrankSprague for detailed info. This is a 1/2 hp motor. This motor came from the estate of my next door neighbor who was 84 whose ancestors were from New York and a lot of this stuff came from the ancestors. The motor runs like the day it was sold. The dimensions are end of shaft to back of motor 9 inches. 5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The weight is 14 pounds. Distance between mounting holes are across 4.5 inches and 3.5 inches side. These never are seen for sale, very rare. There is an identification plate from a Sprague Motor listed now for $100.00.
