This auction is for one(1) 1/2" X 26 1/2" stainless steel rod. These were machined to be used in an assembly that was used in a marine environment. The rod has approximately 5" of 1/2"X 13 thread on one end and a notch on the opposite end for a retaining clip. Each rod has about 20" of uncut or unmachined 1/2" stock. Some may have a number stamped on the rod in very small text and some may have that number on a sticker(see pictures) I don't know which stainless steel material this is but since it was part of an assembly that was used in an ocean going floating platform I assume this is possibly 316. However I have no way to confirm. For the most part these are unused although a few may have been assembled then disassembled. Expect some scratches and blemishes from storage. Up for sale is some Brass. Aluminum, and Steel stock. I picked this up from an estate about a year ago. The gentleman was a railroad modeler and a scale steam engine modeler. Pretty cool hobby. These metals were in a foam lined carrying case.they had been there for so long that the foam had deteriorated in a million pieces. They adhered to teh metals to varying degrees and I tried to scrape most fo the stuff off. For the buyer. You will need to clean these metals prior to use. These are not store bought and resold. This is the largest bolt you probably ever have seen! The shank is 7" in dia and the threads are 6 1/2" in dia! I have NO clue what this was used for and would appreciate any help in figuring out what it is. It's total overall length is 39 1/4" The"base or head" is 2" thick and 9" in dia; The 7" shaft is 37 1/4" long and the threaded section is 3 3/4" long. I am fairly certain it is made of cast steel. I picked this baby up in a land fill I used to manage. in case you're wondering. Any help in identifying it would be appreciated!
