These were produced for familys at home to mail to their soldier loved ones in the field during World War II. There is a forward by the Commander In Chief and President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Making it commonly known as a"heart shield" Bible) and has been well kept for a lot of years. The unused, original mailing box is in pretty good condition, but has some wear from age and likely use. It has a couple tears in the flaps on one end, held closed with scotch tape. The flaps on the other end are missing. Up for auction is a rare pair of Carl Aubock bookends from the 1960s. They have been designed by Carl Aubock(1924-1993) and the design years are approximately 1967-69. They are old and original. Not out of the recent production. The material is casted steel, nickel plated. They measure approximately 90mm(3.7 inches) in length and height and are 27mm thick(1 inch) One bookend is slightly bigger than the other one. The finish is rough, but this has been made by the workshop with intention. Condition is used but good, there are a few smaller stains and oxidation spots, nothing that harms the general appearence. Offering a mid 1900s mortise lock set. Two backplates. Mortise lock and handles. Made of pressed steel with brass plating. The mortise lock box is aluminum. The catch and lock mechanism are cast iron with brass plating. The handle catch can be reversed, for use on right or left hand opening doors. This has a great return spring on the handle, working skelton key deadbolt(no key) MEASUREMENTS: The backplates are 2 1/4" x 7" The locks face plate is 5 1/4" long x 7/8" wide. The lock is 3 1/4" deep from face. 3 1/2" tall, 1/2" thick. The handle opening sets back 2 3/8" from face plate to handle center. The top of key hole is 2" below the center of the handle opening. Vintage Handmade KELLY Engraved Chrome Plated Steel Single Youth or Ladies Spur
This is a single vintage chrome plated steel ladies or youth spur made by Kelly probably from the 1960’s and marked RODEO on the outside of the heel band. Kelly is listed in Bit and Spur Makers in the Texas Tradition by Ned and Jody Martin. The spur is engraved on the outside band and has a nickel silver button cover and comes with a spur strap. There are some surface scratches from use but not any play in the rowel and the rowel spins freely. This would be a nice single spur to add to a collection. Vintage Handmade KELLY Engraved Chrome Plated Steel CHILD Spurs
This is a vintage pair of chrome plated steel child spurs made by Kelly probably from the 1950’s and marked on top of the shanks. Kelly is listed in Bit and Spur Makers in the Texas Tradition by Ned and Jody Martin. The spurs are engraved on the outside bands and have nickel silver button covers. The initials JKD are stamped on the offside bands. The last picture shows the spurs with a water bottle to give you a visual perspective on the size the spurs. There are some surface scratches and knicks in the steel from use but not any play in the rowels and the rowels spin freely. This would be a nice pair to add to a collection or could be worn. Early 1900's Erie Metal Art Co. No. 81 strongbox Copper plated steel. Very gd.cd This is a very nice early 1900's Erie Metal Art Co. No. 81 strongbox Copper plated steel. In very good condition. It has the original un-cleaned copper plated finish with great patina. No key and I'm not sure if lock works but it is the original lock. The upper lock mechanism on the lid appears to have been soldered at some point. The underside of the lid has what appears to be a painted design with the initials W. C. R. I don't know if that would be the designers mark or a one time owners mark but it definitely adds even more character to an already great piece. The box measures 10" long by app. 5" wide and 3 1/2" tall. It is stamped Erie Art Metal Co. No. 81 Erie PA. on the bottom. Handsome large close-plated (silver on steel) skewer, 1820s-40s: Initialled
Pretty antique silver-plated skewer made from steel. close-plated" with silver foil soft-soldered to the steel base. This dates from the period between c. 1820 and the mid-1840s when the manufacturing process was overtaken by electroplating. There are no makers marks but this was probably made in Birmingham. The initials C B are delicately engraved near the oval handle. Most of the silver foil is in good condition but there is some blistering on one side near the centre of the blade(picture) but overall this is in remarkable condition for its age. It is 13 inches(33 cm) long.
