RARE 1910 Kimball & Chappell full SQUARE tubing solid brass bed
RARE: This square-tubed hollow solid brass bed is a rare find on eBay or anywhere on Google- search and see! I only found 2 others anywhere online and they both went for considerably more than mine. Condition: there's some blue corrosion here and there which easily wipes off. There's also 2 iron rails that attach with a circular puzzle shape. So no tools are needed to assemble. The iron rails were once painted gold, but that part is scratched off in some places. All parts are original. None have been replaced. One wheel is missing the 1/4 inch piece that goes around it. But the top, curved part is still there and so is the bottom flat piece. The rest of the wheels look like the one photographed. And they all roll and turn easily. Look at the 1909-1911 ad copies I uploaded to see some advertising from Kimball& Chappell of Chicago. ... moreIL. These ads are copies from online and are not for sale. Vintage Craftsman or Art Deco Square Brass Tubing Table Lamp
I'm guessing a bit but I believe that this brass lamp. Made with square brass tubing dates from the Arts and Crafts or Art Deco era. The lamp is in original"as found" condition and reminds me of our brass bed which is also made of square brass tubing. Actually the tubing is rectangular, not square. The overall height of the lamp is 28" It is in its original"as found" condition. It takes a globe or shade but I don't have it. The legs span 8.5 x 11 inches. The size of the tubing is approximately 7/8" x 3/8" The top of the lamp shows it's age with a bit of stress fracturing. I've included a picture so you can see for yourself. 1950's French "Epsom" Frame Durifort tubing Attractive lugs 54cm Square
Epsom were an enterprise based in Nancy in France and traded under the" epsom precision" name. I have seen a few motor from the 1930's which are quite stunning but this is the first bicycle I have come across. It's difficult to date this frame the lugs were in use post war and with the pump braze ons it is certainly pre 1960. There are some serial numbers on the rear drop 24 6 46 which I doubt relate to the day and year and month as that would be far too logical but it is possible it may be a late 40's bike- I have seen these durifort(which later became Vitus) decals on a couple of early 50's bikes- so my best guess is probably from around then. The frame itself is completly tru and straight and in a very attractive gold colour with the chrome section on the seat tube actually chrome rather than a decal. The chrome ... moreis overall in very good condition as is the paint work there are a few nics and scratches but for a bike of this age it is in very good original condition. In terms of specifics it is 54cm Square measured centre to centre for the top tube and centre to top for the seat tube built with all tubes Durifort and comes with its original Headset and Rewax cottered BB all in very good condition. The rear spacing is 120mm. The lugwork is most attractive as is the colour and it's a pretty interesting and relatively high end frame.
