WESTMORELAND ENGLISH HOBNAIL OR L.E. SMITH "FLATTENED DIAMOND" CAKE PLATE
I think of this as a pastry plate more than cake plate simply because it seems smaller than most cake plates in dimension. It's 10 1/2" square. With a very slight, almost invisible slope from the outer edges to the center, with a barely noticeable dimple in the middle. The edges have small scallops with the hobnail effect underneath. The foot has 8 paneled scallops and brings the piece to 4 1/2 inches in height. I believed this to be an unmarked example of English Hobnail by Westmoreland, but an Ebayer with probably much more knowledge sent a message stating this was made by L.E. Smith in a pattern called Flattened Diamond. Weighing 3 1/2 pounds, there are no cracks, chips or dings that I can see or feel with my fingertips. It's an attractive example of mid-century milk glass.

The earrings have a simple round shape but with a charming design: five small forget me not flowers blooming on a rich yellow gold field encircling a rich. Dark red bohemian garnet glittering at the very heart of the earring. These two oval, deep burgundy color gems having a brilliance and richness that seems lighted from within. For more than 600 years, the"Bohemia" ... moreor"Slovak" regions of Europe were the only known source for this type of pyrope garnet. The name garnet is believed to come from the Greek word for pomegranate, granatum" and it certainly fits the juicy stones in these earrings! As with almost all of the Bohemian pieces, these garnets are rose cuts, or flat backed faceted top stones. They measure a generous 3.4mm x 3.0mm and you'll be amazed at how much light flashes and glitters off the surfaces of the gems.coupled with the surrounding glow of the rich gold color, earrings like these are highly coveted. The Victorians were mad for flowers and their gardens to the point where they had assigned a symbolism for each every plant and flower. Irridescent, circa 1970s Carnival Glass piece which we thought was Imperial initially but were informed was Indiana Diamond Point by a fellow Ebayer(we are not Carnival Glass experts) plate bowl with crimped/ruffled edges. It measures about 10 inches in diameter and is about 1.75 inches high. Has a beautiful starburst and diamond pattern. You can see through the glass when held to the light. In overall VG condition with one barely noticeable"slice-like" chip on one of the"crimped" edges. Not very visible. You'd have to look very closely or even run your finger over the edges to find it. Otherwise as seen in images which we consider part of our description/condition assessment so please review them before bidding/buying.

Mt Washington or New England Diamond Optic Amberina Plate 7 inches
This auction is for a beautiful amberina plate. We believe it is from Mt Washington or New England Glass. It is a lovely plate with no chips or cracks but it does have an open pontil scar. These plates are hard-to-find and if you need it for a bowl. The scar may not be a problem. The acrylic holder shows through the plate and looks like a crack but there is no crack. It measures 7 inches in diameter. Use the magnifying feature to examine the pictures carefully. We are happy to answer your questions. We take great care in our packing and shipping. This is a Rare Gretsch Vintage diamond plate mount or Bracket for a tom leg or cymbal arm. Notice the placement of the Gretsch logo. The mounting screw spacing is 3" center of hole to center of hole It needs a good cleaning and polishing. Has surface scuffs. Scratches and some pitting. A couple nicks near the outer edge and the mounting screw slots have been rounded over. The thumb screw is missing View pictures closely for condition of item. It is being sold as is.
