I am not sure of the purpose of this tool. It has been around for years. Is from my grandfather's farm, and it stamped MAYHEW MADE IN U.S.A. see picture#2) The tool measures 10 3/4 inches long. The"blade" is a uniform thickness(1/4 inch) but goes from 1 inch across to a point.
