Vintage ~ Wooden Step Ladder ~ You are bidding on the steps only These are a delightful set of wooden steps. They have three treads plus the top step. They are good and sturdy and could still be used as steps. They of course fold up neatly when not in use. The top step has a split to it. But this has had an old repair, by the addition of extra screws, and remains sturdy and strong, I personally love this, as it shows what a cherished and useful item these were to their previous owner. They come in"as found" condition and have not been repaired or restored by us. There are some very old woodworm holes, I have re-treated these just in case, and they have not effected the strength of the wood. The bottom step ... morehas a missing piece to the a rear corner, again this does not effect the integrity or sturdy nature of the steps. They also have knocks. Scuffs and marks and that lovely warm colour and patina that only comes with age and use. They measure 65 cm(25 1/2 inches) high to the top step when open. They are 72 cm(28 1/4 inches) front to back when opened. They are only 13 cm(5 1/4 inches) wide when closed. The top step is 34 cm(13 1/4 inches) wide and is 15 cm(6 inches) deep. Ready to display your plants or books. They would look great as an unusual bedside table, or perhaps even use them as intended! Antique Primitive Step Stool Ladder Folding Wood with 3 Steps
This is a listing for ANTIQUE WOOD FOLDING THREE-STEP STEPSTOOL WITH ORIGINAL RED/WHITE PAINT. With the two lower steps folding up. This old primitive doubles as a stepstool and a sitting stool. It total stool measures 22 3/4" tall x 11" deep x 12 1/2" wide at the top. The top step is 9-3/4" deep x 12 1/2" wide, while the other two steps are 4" deep x 9" wide. When the lower steps are folded down, the base measures 19" deep. You can see that the original red and white paint remains but there is a lot of paint splatters on it as it must have been used by a painter. This stool needs to be tightened up I don't recommend using but for decoration the way it is. The top step has a very slight separation between the two planks used for the top. The steps fold in and out easily. It does have its original ... morepaint but there is a lot of paint splatters on it as you can see that it was used by a painter. This was hand made for the grandchildren to sit on at the table when they were little. The top has a hinged part that folds back to sit on then put your feet on the step below. Later it was used for pretty much everything from changing a light bulb to painting. There has been a metal L brace added to stabilize but a good carpenter could remove that and reglue or screw the joint. Needs a good cleaning. This has a mainly gray paint/stain as well. 8 ft- 16 ft combination step/extension ladder. This ladder was made by Heider Mfg. Co. as is seen by the inscription in the photograph of the top step. Heider Mfg. was located in Carroll IA and produced many items for homeowners and farm owners. The ladder is made very sturdy and heavy like you would expect from a commercial-duty ladder. It is wooden and the steps are thick as are the rungs and legs. It is made to use as an eight-foot step ladder or unhook the safety catches and unfold to make it a 16 foot ladder. This ladder was always stored inside and has absolutely no weathering. Splitting, cracks, or damage of any kind. There is a little rust on the metal bracket where it hinges, but this is on the surface and is typical of a ladder that is forty-plus years old.
