A very rare opportunity to purchase a set of maps. As they were originally issued to subscribers in 1767. They form part of the Atlas Anglicanus by Emanuel Bowen(c1693- 1767) which was first issued in 1767, with a 2nd edition in 1777. By this time Emanuel Bowen was dead, so the project was completed by his son Thomas Bowen, and published by T. Kitchin. Antique Durham Duplex Shaving Safety Razor with Celluloid Case Box Travel Kit
Estate Find! Durham Duplex three piece safety razor with it's original hinged celluloid box travel kit. There is a third piece we found in the box that has a 1920 patent on it. Not sure if it goes with this razor, but we are including it just in case. The razor measures 2-1/4" wide, 15/16" tall and handle is 3-1/16" long and 7/16" in diameter. Razor is in good condition. Very shiny for it's age. It is somewhat clean, but you will want to clean it yourself to make it shave ready. The box is in good antique condition, hinges and clasp work fine, it does have some stains on the outside and there is a crack in the inside crevasse where the handle is stored. WWI Scrapbook Handwritten Typed Diary Photos Capt Sullivan Durham NH France RARE
This is an exceptional WWI Captain’s scrapbook and diary that is full of some amazing pieces of ephemera and all of it has to do with his time spent in the service. His name was Lynde Sullivan and the amazing part of all of this is that he was in his early 50’s when he left for France in WWI. He was born on October 4 th. 1865, the son of John Langdon Sullivan and Helen Lynde. He graduated from Harvard in 1888 and married Katherine Torrey Baldwin in 1898. He had a son by the name of John Langdon who was born in 1903. He was commissioned out on July 20 th. 1917. I found the following excerpt taken from“The Harvard Graduates’ Magazine, Volume 28. 1919-1920” Lynde Sullivan has been discharged from active service. He was a Captain in the Quartermaster’s Department at first and acted as Division Supply Officer at one of the cantonments in the South. ... moreHe was later sent to France in charge of the detachment of special service men and after serving there in various capacities was finally assigned to the Intelligence Division. His present address is Durham. New Hampshire. Again. This scrapbook has so many incredible things inside including a few handwritten and typed diary entries. The scrapbook itself has 400 pages of which 91 of those were used up by Lynde. Some of the pieces of ephemera is glued in(but usually just on the corners) and some is loose. I counted 220+ pieces of ephemera, some of which are even titled, Confidential. There are photos. Certificates of identity, handwritten notes, service of supply papers, postcards, train tickets, supply lists, passes, intelligence reports, bread tickets, telegrams, letters, deserter reports, criminal investigation papers, battle information, orders, and a lot more. There are also quite a few notes or documents that state that Capt. Sullivan has permission to“enter any of the places that are“off limits” at any time in line of duty. So he must have been quite high up. Because there is so much to this scrapbook I didn’t even check any of the autographs or signature

Costume and accessories from two large country houses in SW Scotland, as well as many of the brocante treasures I brought back from France in May. I am continuing to sort and launder the boxes of textiles and ephemera from this trip, and am rather unsuccessfully trying to clear space in my studio… I return to France on 7 th August for some really special antique markets. So do keep popping back to see what I have unearthed! A rather time worn but utterly charming beauty! This Victorian summer weight quilt is plain white on the reverse. And the front has wide stripes of faded cabbage rose floral print interspersed with white. Just ... moreperfect for a slightly shabby but very chic boudoir- all of the edges have some wear and feathering, and will need binding with a fabric that matches your interior. This hand stitched Victorian quilt is freshly laundered and snowy white, with no marks or stains, but the condition is not perfect. Measuring 210cm x 205cm, it would be brilliant for a relaxed country interior- those faded Victorian florals simply cannot be replicated. If you are looking for a perfect quilt this will not be for you, but lovers of country cottage chic, this will be a totally delightful faded treasure! More photographs below. PLEASE READ. In addition there is some MW equipment, a view of the shop building and several cabooses. The images are presented in JPEG format and are compatible with Macs and PCs.
