VTG WRIGHT & McGILL GRANGER 8642 Bamboo Fly Rod 8 1/2' STREAM & LAKE
The Granger 8642's have got to be the most iconic western taper bamboo fly rod in history. I like them because they are very versatile and can cast in all situations including when the winds pick up and will fish a 5 or a 6. My story this past summer included my first outing with an 8642 Special and was 3 days on the B_r River in Montana. We fished the upper head waters for up to 16" Cutts and the Special was a ball. Then we fished lower. Larger waters for nice sized, hard fightin' bows. I could not believe that I was making 60' casts with a hopper in the wind. Later in the day I switched over to a nymph rig and was amazed at how well it could mend the line. I even fished streamers with the fear of nicking the rod but it performed flawlessly. Now I don't know about you, but that is the type of waters that I normally fish, ... moremuch more than the dainty little creeks. I am having a hard time fishing with graphite again! This rod is very nice. But has a couple of minor issues. One guide on the mid has been re-wrapped with the correct scarlet red. It was done nicely and other than it looking slightly newer than the rest of the wraps, you can hardly tell. One tip had a splinter on the top 6" and has been wrapped in clear. It is even hard to tell in the pics and should fish like the other tip, which is excellent. The finish on the rod is near flawless and shines like new. The pics show the condition of the grip and seat. Ferrules have a nice fit. Sock is original but the tube is a few inches longer than the rod. I am the only owner and as I said they were brand new and not repaired or refurbished units. The HDS 8 and LSS1 are in EXCELLENT condition. The cables do not look new because they were installed but the are in really good condition(no kinks or skint places) They were kept on my boat in a heated and cooled basement. One(1) used Wilson 6.1 Classic 95 headsize regular length(27" Grip size is 4 5/8 grip. I would say racket is in 7/10 condition. Bumper guard is in good shape. Racket has normal wear and scratches for a frame of this age. Black paint is scraped off in some places from normal wear as older frames were made this way. NO cracks and NO deep paint chips. Strung with Prince Duraflex 16 white string but strings are pretty old. For an additional $10 I can restring with Synthetic gut at a tension of your desire. The butt cap does have some minor scratches on the edge. The rod is a 8 1/2 foot 3 weight 4 piece. He is trading it in for a new fly reel. The cork has no chips and no cracks. Large Basket 15" x 8" x 9 1/2" Vintage FISHING CREEL Great Condition Not Broken
This is a large. Vintage fishing creel with no straps and no leather. It is 15" across the front, 8" by 12 1/2" across the lid and 9 1/2" tall in the back. The condition is very good, there are no holes and no broken weave. There is also no way to keep the lid closed, it may have been waiting at the Lawrence factory to get the leather added. It was with 2 other creels with leather at an estate sale, someone was a hunter and fisherman. Payment by Paypal transfer will be great and local pick ups are OK. This is a medium. Vintage fishing creel with a canvas strap and decorative leather. It is 13" across the front, 11" by 5 1/2" across the lid and 8" tall in the back. The condition is very good for the bottom, there is broken weave on the top and the leather hinge is worn. The front catch was also changed and is not all original. Vintage Fly Fishing Rod/Fenwick FF85 8-1/2' 3 3/4 OZ w/tube Super condition
Offering a super Fenwick Feralite. Model FF85, 8-1/2 ft, 2 pc, 3-3/4 oz. fiberglass fly rod with the original aluminum carrying case. The cloth case is gone. The rod is in exceptional shape. The eyes have no damage and the wrapping is in great shape. The cork handle has never had a hook in it and is damage free. The feral attaches well and holds nicely. The action is live. The line rating tag is still on the rod but I couldn't upload enough pictures to show everything. My guess is made in very late 50's or early 60's. Defininely before mid 1963 as that was the year the 5 digit zip code came out and Fenwick's address doesn't have that.only Long Beach 4, California. Considering that, this rod is at least 50 years old but looks like it was manufactured last week except the line rating tag is slightly loose and needs regluing ... moreon the top edge. That's not bad for a 50 year old rod. There is a dent or two in the aluminum case as can be seen in picture 11. The serviceability is in no way impaired. Feralite had not yet been patented when this rod was made as it says patent pending behind the word Feralite. Serial number is C 16723. Exceptional piece but I am downsizing and can't tramp the streams as I once did so here's a nice opportunity to own agreat rod. Low start. No reserve, and 14 day return privilege so bid with confidence and the assurance that I want you to be 100% pleased with your purchase. Phillipson Paragon fly rod 8 1/2' - 5 bamboo 3 section very nice original cond.
Today I purchased this Phillipson Paragon fly rod at an estate sale. I don't know really anything about it other than I have read that they fish very well. And I know they were made in the fifties. This is a 3 section 8 1/2' 5 HDH. It also has what looks like a small b with an 8 in front of the length designation. It is in very good overall condition for the age, and does not appear to have any real damage or problems other than very minor scuffs and scratches. It was obviously owned by someone who liked to use it, and it has been well used, but probably has a lot of life left in it. The ferrules seem tight, all the guides are still tightly wrapped, and I do not see any cracks or repairs. I can send better pics too if any one is interested in seeing it in a close up shot with better light. Thanks for looking!

This auction is for 18 Whopper Stopper Hellbender Lures in used condition. 3 or 4 will show a little more wear such as nicks and scrapes with some paint loss, the great majority are in Very Good condition, all are complete, all are usable, all four sizes are in this group, the four different lengths are 5-1/8' 4-1/2' 3-3/4' AND 3" all of the lures in this group were found in a"UMCO 3060-U Tackle Box" the original owner came from Minnesota, the box has been stored for a while. There is very little if any rust, there are several with the same colors but they differ in size. there is one partial box with paper about the Hellbender, take a look at the pictures, ask any questions.We will ship Priority Mail 1 to 2 pound weight to U.S. Canada ONLY.
