A barn find that I picked today in Virginia. You don't see these often. Made in Canton. Ohio, the heavy cast iron has a gorgeous patina. It measures 14 1/4" deep, 16" wide and is 3 1/2" tall. The only discrepancy is a crack in the middle of the piece. It is still strong and shouldn't cause a problem if you were to use it. It is a superb display piece. It could use a good cleaning. Vintage 1970s Mid-Century Modern chrome tractor seat cantilever TALL stool pair
70's Art Deco Revival. Brilliant Chrome on Solid Steel, Bar Stools, 30 seat height, with foot rests. I was thrilled to see a current listing for a pair of the shorter version of these elegant"bar stools" Which I purchased for my ski condo at Mt. Alyeska outside of Anchorage, Alaska back in the late 1970. They are among the most comfortable sitting seats I have ever found. Farmers who would often spend 12 to 16 hour days sitting their tractors evolved a design that left little room for anything but comfort, right down to the shape and holes in the bottom. Having downsized a couple times, I no longer have a"bar" or room for these striking and functional pieces of Art/Furniture. They were pretty pricey back in the 70's and worth every penny of it, today. Obviously, they were made to last, and you can rely on that ... moreto continue. They are Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni style/ design(no signature or markings) Bright polished chrome. With contoured seat and tubular steel cantilever frames. They stand 22" tall x 19 1/2" wide overall. Wonderful functional sculpture; perfect to pull-up when extra seating is called for. They"sit" great.
