We would say comfortably it is from an old thresher. There are no damages whatsoever to declare. No cracks or breaks. Has a nice ring to the metal when tapped. Only the usual minor surface rust. The metal has a nice original patina going on and, has not been cleaned, painted nor, sandblasted. Has original mounting bolt/nut. More information below on SYLVESTER. Sylvester, active from about 1877 to 1910, was known for well designed and well built machinery such as grain binders, seed drills, pumps, gas engines and cultivators. Sylvester seed drills were held in high regard with their disc bearing arrangement being thought to be the best of the early seed drills. However Richard Sylvester, one of the owners of the Company was not content with these achievements. With the arrival of internal combustion engines, he developed the idea that a self propelled threshing machine was possible and would sell. Sylvester began working on this idea even before successful internal combustion tractors had emerged. By 1906, he had produced a prototype machine and had sent it for tests at the Brandon Experimental Farm. The first Auto Harvester was basically a self propelled wooden threshing machine powered by a 25 horsepower, 2 cylinder engine. Vintage Iron Saddle Tractor Seat Porch Stool Chair Rustic Shabby Chic Handmade
Up for auction is this custom made tractor seat on a vintage cast iron base of a old tractor or farm jack. It is combined with pipe fittings that allow it to spin. It does not change height. It does have a wobble to it due to the fitting. The fitting is made like that, but is solid and sturdy. The chipped paint is original and there is some surface rust. Stool seat has been sanded lightly to remove any major roughness. Cast iron base is made by Manufacture Engineered Engineering Co. Boston Mass I am not sure who the maker of the tractor seat is. This auction is for an old tractor seat. With mount, and arm bracket. I think it could be John Deere as there is a trace of green paint on the bottom side. But I really do not know. The seat itself measures approx. 18 inches by 21.5 inches long. The arm measures approx. 31 inches long and the diameter is a little over 2 1/4 inches. It is all rusty, but I think it could be salvaged if you were looking to use it in a restoration. The rim around the outside of the seat is the worse and is seperating in a few places. i have here is a nice working seat mount that come off of a sears craftsman 2 tractor.model 917.254661. the seat mount is in good shape and will fit many of the older sear craftsman 2 tractor and many other craftsman tractors that was made in the 1990s and up to 2003 this seat mount will fit it will fit some from the 1988 and up to. the seat mount as been repainted and id in good shape.what you see in the photos is what you will get any questions please ask befor bidding and thank you for looking
