This is a beautiful transferware double egg cup. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, fleabites or wear. The design is a fort with a man and small boy looking at it. The piece is unmarked but probably English made for the souvineer market. This lovely cup sits 4" tall, 2 1/2" round on the wide end and 2" on the smaller end. Feel free to ask questions. Vintage wood trinket box from Fort Dearborn Century of Progress World Fair in Chicago 1933. It is in good condition with hinges and latch working and intact. Box is 6 x 2 3/4 x 1 7/8" Design on the lid was done by wood burning or pyrography with red added. There's couple smudges of green too as you see. The box bottom is all one piece of wood. RARE Antique 1933 Lincoln Logs Fort Dearborn Construction Set 40 W/Box
Up for bids is a vintage Lincoln Log Lumber Fort Dearborn Construction Set No. 40. Manufactured by J L Wright Inc of Chicago. IL. Fort Dearborn sat on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago and was one of several similar U.S. forts built to protect early settlers from Native American Indians and foreign invaders. They also acted as trading posts in early America. The fort was reconstructed for the Chicago World's Fair. The lincoln log lumber used in this set has been designed to reproduce blockhouses. Barracks, stockades and settlers cabins as accurately as possible and as such are constructed in log panels instead of being cut separately as is the case of Lincoln Logs. This set is copywritten and produced in 1939. This set is in very good condition. There are three damaged stockade pieces as shown in a seperate photo. 1933 Chicago Worlds fair metal tray that is extremely detailed and intricate with floral patterns and scenes of everyday life in the edges of the insides of the tray. I am unaware of the metal it is made of but it is plated and some is wearing off but it did not lose any character over time. If anything it gained a little. This auction is for a vintage collectible silver spoon. It is from the 1933 Chicago World Fair. The bowl of the spoon has a picture and is titled Hall of Science. Underneath the picture i t reads Chicago 1933. The handle of the spoon reads A Centur y o f Progress. At the the end of the handle is a picture and title of Fort Dearborn. Underneath that is a sh ield and 1833. The back of the handles reads Century Silver Plate. The spoon is 6 inches long. I t was purchased at an estate sale and was very tarnished. Rare Blue Tumbler w/ Ft Dearborn Illus Century Of Progress 1933
This auction is for a very rare blue glass iced tea footed tumbler issued for the 1933 Century of Progress. 5 5/8" tall. 3 3/4" top diameter. Added gilt to top edge and a ring on the foot and around the unusual illustration to the front. This tumbler shows the replica of Ft Dearborn at the Fair in 1933. I believe these illustrations were produced by hand painting an enamel panel on the surface, white at the bottom and blue at the top to simulate the sky. On this panel a sepia toned print was added. Also the quality of the glass is far superior to that usually found in souvenirs. It's more like Cambridge or Fostoria in quality. See my other listings for additional pieces.
