Hi. Up for auction is a creme Gibson Les Paul toggle switch plate, aka a poker chip. I got this with a bunch of parts. Not sure what year it's from(couldn't find much info, maybe all your smart ebayers can help with that) I think it might be from the late 60's, definitely not 50's. It has a die cast/ tooling mark in the back. The Gold lettering is in excellent shape. I've managed to clean it up a little more since I took the pictures. The hex bar forks are made from heavy wall ex-mining rods, these things are heavy duty and won't bend or snap they are made to last. Extra hex bar and solid rod to finish off the project(see pic) It was originally being made to fit a Fordson Super Major front loader. But could be adapted to suit virtually any tractor loader. Fender Precision Bass P-Bass Maple Neck - 1975 1976 Vintage Original PROJECT
1975 1976 Fender Precision Maple Bass Neck. The serial number from the neck plate(not included) is 6236xx. Which dates it to 1975/ 1976. This is an original vintage Fender P-Bass maple neck with lots of mojo. No cracks or repairs. The tuners and string tree look old, but are not original to this neck. Under the tuners, you can see the original tuner mounting screw holes. Now the bad news: Without string tension, the neck appears to be fairly straight, but with string tension there is a forward bow, making the action super high. The truss rod works, but even with the truss rod tight, there is still a forward bow. I thought about a few fixes; one option is to have the neck re fretted and have the fingerboard planed flat during the fretting process. The other option is to send the neck to someone who does heat pressing- they say they fix issues ... morelike this all the time. I'll let the photos show the condition of the finish, which is missing from most of the fingerboard and worn on the edges of the neck(mainly the bottom side) The frets are worn(good candidate for a fret job) The nut appears to be original. Overall this is a rough neck, but a worthy project for someone willing to put work into it. Because of the issues I've described, I need to sell this as is, as a project in need of repair. Vintage Teisco guitar for parts or repair. Made in Japan in the 60s, may have been labeled Teisco, Guyatone, Norma, Silvertone or one of the other Japan makers in the 60s Very cool guitar with lots of potential. It's pretty much all there, so should be a pretty easy fix The guitar has plenty of scratches and dings. As well as some rust and pitting on the metal parts The frets show some wear and the body appears to have been refinished with cheap black paint which has lots of finish cracks. Looks to have been white before The neck to body angle is pretty bad and I'm not sure if this is really a bolt on neck that has been painted over or a set neck guitar with a neck plate! I'll leave that up to you to determine and this is really the only reason that this guitar is listed as a project. Vtg Antique 1900-1910 Weymann 5 String RB Banjo 24 Hook Tiger Maple Project
This is a Weymann Keystone State 5 string regular open back banjo likely made between 1900 and 1910 and it requires work. The headstock has a portion of the laminate finish missing and the fingerboard is damaged between the last fret and the pot(see pictures) Also. The fingerboard nut and 2 pot hooks are missing. The shoes are still mounted where the hooks are missing. One hook has a nut that is not original. The neck is in good shape and straight. The friction tuning machines are original and in good shape but they do have some light oxidation on the metal parts. The neck and pot are flamed maple and the finish is intact with some dings and scratches. The original Elton tailpiece is complete but has heavy oxidation and will need to be refinished. The unique Weymann patented neck angle reinforcement mechanism is in good shape. Unless you are a luthier or want some practice in this field. This banjo is not for you. If I thought it could not be restored to a playable condition, I would not list it, but it does offer that challenge. There is a small brass plate on the inner rod that has the engraving"Dixie Brand" and" B& J New York" Also on this plate is a ribbon with"Durro" engraved on it. I was unsuccessful in locating this instrument or its origin, but it very well could date back to the American Civil War. It has been played hard, so someone had an abiding love for it. You have a great old vintage Brazilian classical guitar to enjoy! The back appears to be solid Brazilian rosewood, the sides and top are probably brazilian rosewood laminate. The neck is, of course, ... morea lovely old piece of brazilian rosewood. The guitar is all original. Including the tuners(at least one button needs to be repaced) and the original bone nut as well. There is some finish checking. A few scratches, some finish wear and some fret wear on this guitar as well. You may decide to refret the guitar, but I don't know if it will be needed. The guitar was modified at some point for use as a 7 string guitar. However. The tuners on the guitar are the standard 3 x 3(an additional peg must have been added, then later removed) The sound hole inlays and bindings are complete, but some are loose in their grooves and will need to be reglued. I have had this guitar sitting in the workshop for quite a few years. Hoping one day I would have the time to put this beauty back together, but It's not going to happen. This will be a very worthwhile project for a competent luthier, guitar repair person, or aspiring new guitar builder. Brazilian-made Del Vecchio Timbre Vox guitars are quite collectable, and many who play them comment that they have very good tone. Music Hall MMF-5 record player turntable with project speed box ii pro-ject
The auction is for a killer Music Hall MMF-5 turntable and Pro-ject speed box II. No cartridge is included in this auction. The Sumiko Blue point will be going on my new table. I bought this deck new from The Speaker Shop. an authorized dealer here in Buffalo NY. I also purchased the Pro-ject speed box II from them some time after. These have low hours and have been adult owned.The MMF-5 is near mint with just the usual scuffs in the dust cover. The RCA ends where upgraded to high quality Audioquest RCA's. The pro-ject speed box does wonders for this table. Any hint of wow and flutter is gone. The background noise is greatly reduced. The sound stage vastly larger. On top of that. You no longer have to move the belt from the 33 to 45 pulley.It is just a push of a button. I I have the original box and packing for both. This is for a Scout Note Book made of wood with metal hinges and bound by a rope and on the front a picture is burned/etched into the wood. You can see the picture up close in the listing, someone did an excellent job! on this project Im impressed myself especially with the art work. The size of this notebook is approx. 9" x 11 3/4" the very edges on the back are just a tiny bit rough not bad, Im not sure if this is boy scout, cub scout, or eagle, probably an older age Eagle? group for the skill involved it doesnt appear that it has ever been used just been in storage for quite some time. Parlor Guitar late1800s-early 1900's project Beautiful Woods- V Neck
Up for auction is a very old Parlor Guitar. This guitar is made of beautiful woods. Including a Spruce top and what I think is Brazilian Rosewood back and Ribs. Very nice inlay at the perimeter and sound hole. It has at least 1 brace which loose. The neck seems fine. The bottom back needs to be re glued. The tuning gears seem fine. I will have some more photos soon. It doesn't need much work. But it looks like it would be well worth restoring. Please check all of the photos. This will be a very good guitar once restored. Vintage Early 30s Kay Kraft Venetian Mandolin MOTS H'Stock Project or Display
Rare& lovely old vintage Kay Kraft Mandolin from the early 1930s with case.SSC) This will need some work to be a player unless you just want it for display or collecting.Please see photos.This particular Kay Kraft is overall very well preserved. All original, no cracks and has an engraved tailpiece that I have not seen on other Kay Krafts of this style. Features'Venetian' or'2 Point' body style, Celluloid'M.O.T.S' Headstock overlay w/ Gold script,Triple bound solid spruce top, and bound back& neck. All parts appear original. So.there is a lot to like about this old Mando! On the downside,it will need neck work. There is a heel gap and at some point someone did a not very neat reglue. Neck needs to be re-set. Original frets do not show a lot of wear. I think they'll be fine but is hard to tell without this ... morebeing set up and right now the heel has movement and strings are 1/4" high at the body. Similarly, it is hard to assess neck straightness until the neck work is done but I've laid a straight edge on the fingerboard and it looks acceptable but I'd say it remains a? Trying to be thorough and conservative) There are chips of binding missing on both sides of the neck. The finish is overall quite nice for an 80 year old instrument that has been played. It does show numerous nicks& marks. Certainly has some character but its not showing abuse: pretty limited to hinest play wear. Oh, there are light wear lines on top where the bridge has been moved around. People do that all the time& I wish they wouldn't. End of rant) The case is quite nice also. Its an old Brown'Gator SSC. I do not think its original;does not look 30s. It is vintage however. I'd say 1950s or 60s and of a good quality. Well, there you have it. A really cool and worthwhile project for restoring or collecting. Sold as is, but as always,Satisfaction Guaranteed. Regula 25 i day with chains. Needs bellow tops. Gong back, pendulum, crown, weights, and a frame repair. I had this bright idea of getting this fixed up to ride at the beach and I might yet. But I am seeing if someone wants it first. It weighs close to 35 pounds so shipping might be a bit much. Tire to tire it is 54 inches long. The yellow part of frame is 33 inches long by 15 inches approximately. It needs some pedals. The tires are flat but it turns by hand and brakes too. Besides. ... moreFrom what I know, actually only TFK can be loaded at 800V, and even for those it is not recommended, as it hardly ever done with historical equipment. As a rule of thumb. A Push-Pull stage will give maximum 2x the plate power of the tubes as output power(that means both tubes together) So if both tubes are 25 Watt types, You get maximum 100 Watt output power. And yes. EL34 can do that. But. 800V over an octal socket is no good idea. It gives leakage. Inside the glass part of the tube base. Glass may develop small leakage current when hot. If this happens, the heat from the leakage itself will warm up the spot further, and the tube can self destroy. Besides. 800V for a Barium Cathode is very high, and only possible when you have EXTREMELY tight control over the vacuum. And EL34 can not have that tight control. No matter how many getters, or whatever. The plates get simply too hot, and the vacuum at 800V can not be maintained like this for a long time. So at 800V you need to change tubes more often. So EL34 is used at lower voltage normally. Not because designers know(ehem. and respect the reasons above. But simply because lower voltage is more comfortable
