Fluke 87 Upper Support Frame For LCD Display
This Upper Support Frame for the LCD display was taken from a recycled Fluke 87. The tangs on the frame hold the LCD Display and its elastomeric connectors tight against the Main Printed Circuit Board. A loose frame can cause blurring and fading of the LCD Display. It will fit some other 80 series meters. But it is up to you to decide if it will fit your meter. Please be sure this is the one you want before ordering. I have used JB epoxy to repair the upper left tang which was about to break off. This means you will need to slip the circuit board into that side, making sure the tangs are in place, before pushing down to seat the other two tangs. I have tested this and it is no problem whatsoever. Because this is a used, and refurbished part there is a low starting bid. New this parts often sells for $25.00 or more, plus shipping. This is a Fluke 87 Version III multimeter. I only used this a small handful of times since I purchased it new. It is in excellent condition. You wont find an 87 in better condition even if you purchase a new one. All functions work as they should. The multimeter comes with the 1000v premium Fluke test leads and the premium Fluke case. They do not add that the batteries are either depleted or entirely missing. ALL four batteries and fuses are new. Also, and most importantly, they do not even know many times, that the input bridge(the input jacks which are on a single module) have broken, or weak, contacts. The input bridge on this unit has been quality checked so there are many good years in this multimeter. Another common problem with this model is the leakage of batteries which run down and discharge/lead even with the meter off. This meter has been quality check(repaired if needed) against that problem so rest assured there is no battery problem. Fluke meters are sealed so well that often times the owner breaks the case, or lense, or damages the seals just because they aren't familiar with the proper way to open them(the proper way is noted in the enclosed manual) Also, distinctive with the V series, it has 2 levels of back lighting. Please be advised* The fuses in this unit have been tested in 2 manners. First. By passing a known current through the meter(and fused) circuits and Second, by testing them in the non-distructive manner(before the meter goes out) as prescribed by Fluke. This second process tests the fuses inside the unit by putting the meter in the ohms function and then placing one end of a probe in the positive jack and the other end in the designated current port. No test leads included. So if you need the good parts this has, ok. And I did a rotary knob test on it and the knob passes, so that ain't it. Fluke 87 III failed calibration for microamps sold for parts or repair
This Fluke 87 III was used in our lab and failed calibration the last time out. It is out of cal for the 350 microamp and the 3500 microamp range. It also does not power up but I assume that is a need for a battery. There is also a small crack in the protective glass over the display which does not appear to affect anything. I will include a copy of the failed calibration. We use these things but do not fix them so if you are able to use it"as-is" or fix it this may be a bargain. The voltage checker is also in near mint. The case shows a small amount of wear because naturally that's whats been exposed. But it still is in great condition. FLUKE 87 TRMS DIGITAL MULTI-METER VERY NICE & with HOLSTER and EXTRAS
FLUKE 87 TRMS DIGITAL MULTIMETER. VERY ACCURATE and WITH NICE COMPONENTS! This is a Fluke 87 model. It came out of industrial stores where is was kept on a calibration cycle. Specs for AC accuracy to 20 kHz(where most meters do) but this one is accurate(see pix) to 50 kHz. Which is rare. This unit is nice, with some evidence of bumps, AND it comes with nice extras. The Fluke yellow holster is in good shape. The Topcase and bottomcase are also in great shape with no signs of previous ownership such as names, s, etc. The lense is in average condition and the display is in great shape, with no signs of decay. The LCD assembly was completely removed and cleaned so it has many good years of operation ahead. New are the battery and fuses. It comes with a nice new set of non-fluke CAT III probes, a Quick Reference Guide, a paper factory copy of ... morethe User's Manual, and a CD with the Fluke 87 series meters. Ser# 46850121 NOTE: of late I have seen many sellers either not enclosing the battery or not updating them. also not noting that fuses are bad. Changing batteries and fuses is one of the most common causes of case damage on Fluke meters. Price these fuses. Even on Ebay they are expensive! If the seller says they can't put batteries in their meters because of the post office or laws, they are NOT right. there are no such restrictions on these meter batteries EXCEPT for Lithium Ion. Too many times. Meters are sold on Ebay which do have the battery or you get one that is depleted. The fuses are either missing or blown(price the Fluke meter fuses. even on Ebay they are very expensive) This meter has a NEW battery and fuses, so you don't get burned thinking you have a bargain! Fluke 87 Pink Zebra Elastomeric Connectors for Glass LCD Display Screen
These were taken from a Fluke 87 DMM that was recycled for reasons other than the display. They are in perfect working order as you can see by the picture of a display using these very connectors. The line(see picture) at the top. Probably indicates where the connect or touched the glass LCD screen. The connectors should be connected in the same orientation. The Fluke 87 Service Manual lists these as: J1. J2 Conn, Elastomeric, LCD to PWB 1.590 L. Keeping, the Glass LCD Screen Display, and the pads on the Main Board where they attach is the key to a maintaining good sharp display. Fluke 87-III digital multimeter in very good shape( 87-3 DMM) Up for auction is an example of the famous digital multimeter. The Fluke 87-3. When I say famous I mean this is the Fluke multimeter that makes your Extech using friend green and orange with envy. This particular unit hasn’t actually met anyone famous(that I’m aware of) but don’t hold that against it. Really. What’s more important, a meter that’s only two degrees from Kevin Bacon or a meter that delivers the rugged good looks of a Fluke 87-3? Now this meter isn’t new out of the box. The case does have a few spots that show it’s done something with its life. But it hasn’t done too much. The two expensive fuses are both good. As a younger version of the Fluke 87-3 family it has the white/blue backlight instead of the green used in earlier versions. That’s better for all sorts of ... moreobvious reasons. Some sellers of Fluke meters will brag that they include not only the test leads but a BATTERY as well. Well I’m willing to match them. I will also include not only the Fluke OEM test leads(no crummy aftermarket leads here! but a battery. Yes. You too can buy this meter to get a USED 9V battery. So let’s sum this up. You get: A Fluke 87-3 meter in very good but not brand new condition. A pair of Fluke test leads also in very good but not brand new condition. A Fluke 87-3 protective case in a bit less than not brand new condition but still good. A 9V battery in likely a good bit less than new but not dead condition!
