It comes with a very heavy duty enclosure that allows a certain amount of movement and alignment. There is some rust on the outside of some alignment pieces. The mirror surface is protected by a heavy duty, locking aluminum cover. I checked the mirror surface pretty carefully and did not notice any imperfections, such as deep gouges, dirt, etc. It appears to be very straight and reflects very well. I am not an expert in these mirrors and do not know how to properly test one. It is sold as is. This optical flat belonged to Recon Optical/ISR Goodrich and was used to test manufacture of spy satellites and spy airplane cameras. Then I bought it at auction.
