Here for sale is a retrofit cnc kit for any 7x10.7x12, 7x14 or any other mini lathe. I purchased this kit a couple years ago from a company called stepper world. I put all the electronics inside a cnc case purchased from CNC4PC.com. Everything works perfectly. This setup runs off of Mach 3 software. I will still continue to use this setup until I sell it. Normally when you are shopping around for a cnc kit for your machine you will only receive the motors, and a board. I am including pretty much everything you need to plug it in and start turning down metal. Heres a breakdown of the included parts list. X axis Nema 23 stepper motor. This is a nearly complete control set up for a good sized diy cnc router. Plasma, or to retrofit a mill. These were all removed from working equipment and guaranteed to perform. The Power-One power supply# is PFC500-1024F and it has an incredible output of 24V@ 21A! The 5 axis breakout board can be used for one axis, up to 5 axis control and you can slave motors if you want a 3 axis table with dual motors driving one axis, for example, then you would only use 3 outputs from the breakout board, 4 drivers, and 4 motors. 2 of the drivers are Anaheim Automation model M6R5 and the other 3 are more robust Centent CN0142. The motors are all matched for the best performance and easy configuration with your program. Zen Toolworks CNC Mill Router 12x12 Complete Kit Foredom Flex Shaft Tool Milling
This Zen Toolworks 12x12 DIY CNC is turn key. Ready to go. All you need to start making chips is a PC with a parallel port and controller software installed(Mach3 is a great option) The CNC was assembled with care and only use a few times for light work in acrylic and aluminum. There are limit switches on both ends of all three axis. The two Z axis switches aren't installed in the photos but will be there when the unit ships. It has a controller mounted on the back of the unit that also has driver circuits for the stepper motors. There is also a AC to DC power supply that is more than capable of powering the board and motors. The size of the unit is 21"x21"x14" It uses their M8x1.25 lead screws that provide more torque than the F8 leadscrews. There are also brass backlash nuts attaching the leadscrews to the table and carriage ... moreto keep things accurate. There is one small crack in the high density PVC board located on the spindle carriage(pictured) It has been repaired with high strength PVC epoxy and does not appear to have any unwanted effect on the performance. Paired with the CNC Milling machine is a Foredom TX rotary flex shaft tool. This is their more powerful tool. 1/3hp vs 1/6hp. The extra power comes in handy. It has a cast iron base with a speed control knob built in. The speed range is 500 to 15,000 RPM. The best part of the rotary tool is the fact that it can still be used by itself. It mounts to the CNC with two very sturdy rail mounts that are tightened with cap screws. This also allows adjustment of the vertical position of the tool. The hand piece is a model 44T which is more accurate than their standard due to the fact it uses collets instead of a Jacobs style chuck. It includes 1/8th" 3/32nd" and 1/4" collets. Foredom also offers other collet sizes on their website. I will also throw in the 1/4" 4FL end mill in the pictures. They switched to Thomson screws and nuts for supply reasons. Sherline CNC 5400 mill with upgrade screws kit + Geckodrive G540 + power supply
Up for sale is a used Sherline 5400 cnc mill with some upgrades. First the good part; the mill works as is and I cut some parts on it. So all the parts shown here work as is. Now the bad part; The couplers between the steppers and the screws is not ideal. I've only seen this type of coupler in a few photos online. Not sure who made the conversion kit. But it's not a sherline(I think) part. They do work, but there is no backlash compensation in the way the couplers work. I"think" you could modify these to be better and maybe even eliminate the backlash, but I think it would be better to just get new coupler parts w/ some sort of backlash compensation. If you're handy and have some tooling, I would think you could make something better than what's on it. I bought a bigger/better mill and have no use for this one so ... moreI never set about fixing it. The power supply is just a box someone built but it works fine. There's room in it for the G540 I'm including. There is a 6ft cable for the G540 to PC. There is an upgraded set of X& Y screws and bearings along w/ the required drill and tap to modify/install them. All of the steppers have DB9 connectors installed to work w/ the G540. There are a few collets and tool holders and a jacobs chuck w/ closer. Basically what you see is what you get(except the can of acetone. The 2 boxes of vinyl gloves and the foamcore: I'll carefully pack and insure this. I'm putting in some guess on the weight and I'll pickup the difference if it ends up costing more to ship it. I'll likely bolt the base to a piece of mdf or plywood and screw that to the box to keep it from rattling around in a box.
