From what I was told when I bought this was made originally by Dave. At some point it went back to him and not only was there a preamp added but SSB as well. In the SSB mode the 2290 driver pill is turned off so if you want to run a high powered radio in from of this amp you can shut the 2290 off and make it a high drive just by putting it in the SSB mode. Preamp works. Variable works and OMG this amp does unbelievable wattage. I remember when I bought it the guy said that it was an above normal amp as far as output. I was like yeah right but when I got it home and put it on the meter I just couldn't believe what this little amp is doing. I had it over to CB World in Elkton MD today and it was given a clean bill of health and a pat on the case for blowing us all away on the bench. I been running it on a 300 amp power supply in the house ... moreat 14 volts workn the world. Good luck. I have no way to know if this item Works at your place. There is no warranty. Cosmetics: Pretty rough. See pics. Performance: At 147 MHZ 10 watts in gives me 60 watts out to a dummy load. But I only get 30 watts out at 144. I do not have 30 watts to drive it. After the testing. One of the finals felt a little warm the other not so. Dead final? I don't know? The Preamp works and seems to adds about 10dB. Sometime you have to wiggle the switch to get it to really work. Though the light comes on in either case. If you are curious: My history of the amp: I bought it on EBAY from an estate. And it did not work at all except the lights came on, and when I turned on the preamp sigs would get weaker. I had no time so I since bought another. Later when I got some time I sprayed contact cleaner on all the switches and the two internal relays. It then came to life. But I have no way to drive it with more than 10 watts and like I said it does not seem to work correctly below 147 MHz. Maybe it just needs alignment, maybe it needs a new final, maybe it just needs 30 watts drive. Maybe this is something you have the time and skill for. I don't at the moment. I have given you all I know and marked it for repair. If this troubles you, please do not bid on this one. It is NOT the same MIRAGE manfacturer that makes the illegal CB radio equipment so please do not delete this auction. Please read. I have no knowledge of these, what they do or how they work. I welcome all questions and or input. I believe this to be an amp for a mobile HAM radio. It came from the estate of a local Ham Radio guy. Amprobe 600 Volt , 100 Amp Meter With Case
Nice used Amprobe Volt. Amp Meter. 2 Volt Scale settings, 150, 600. 4 Amp scale settings 5, 15, 40 and 100 amps. it does need some new leads, one of the ends is missing on one of the leads. but it is a major brand and new leads are easy to get. comes with case, case is a little rough on the outside but the snap works. shipped in a USPS flat rate box with tracking.
