KDK Tool Holder #105 1" Boring Bar (genuine USA original) Quick Change
KDK Tool Holder#105 Quick-Change Master Bar for boring bars up to 1" dia. USED. See pictures. Unit is In good working order with all(5) screws installed. Included are TWO extra-long height adjustment screws(total of 7 screws) Screws are tight and work good. KDK is now out-of-business and original bars are becoming scarce. KDK is noted for it's highly repeatable tooling design. Due to the use of a socket set screw resting on a round post, with a single point of contact rather than a round wobbly wheel resting on top of the tool post. A feature not always recognized with the KDK design is the low profile which makes it possible to actually see over the tool post or to use the top flat of the tool post to measure down to the tool tip and set the tool-bit at center height. KDK made these tools for 60 years in the US and this particular ... moretool was well-made more than 15 years ago. The tool is fully functional and works like new. All of the parts appear to be original. 7 Holders are only for use with T-type blades having parallel top and bottom edges. South Bend 9A & 10K Quick Change Lever
This Quick Change lever came from a South Bend 10K lathe. South Bend parts illustrations indicate this is an AS400NK but the actual lever is only marked 400N. The illustration also specifies a right and left but I believe they are interchangeable since both gear boxes I disassembled have 400N levers for all 4 and the cases came from 10K lathes. The gear pin(shaft) is included and is only partly inserted in the pics. The spring plunger works fine. Overall. I think this is a solid usable lever with little wear. The backstory: I needed new gearing and shafts for my 10K. So purchased a complete used gear box in very good condition and took the parts I needed. This lever(and other parts from the used gear box) are surplus to my needs, so I'm selling them off. International Bidders Please Inquire About Shipping Cost Prior To Bidding SOTTOF SALES Very little bed wear Model 1875 Serial Number 71620(approx. 1957) 10" swing 24" between centers. 1/2 HP 3 PH Fwd/Off/Rev Switch. Comes with a Cushman 5" Dia. chuck in good shape(the number stamped on the back of the chuck matches the ser. of lathe so maybe original) This came from school and was mostly used with wood and has some sawdust on the gears, no broken gear teeth, all speeds/feeds controlled by the quick change gear box function, power cross and longitudinal feeds work fine, back gear works fine. Vee belt drive, 16 speeds from 38 RPM to 1230 RPM, 1 1/2" 8 threaded spindle w/ 3 MT bore ... moreand 25/32" thru bore. Tail stock is 2 MT bore and is missing the correct quill locking lever has a makeshift one installed that works ok. The lathe has the later style large dia. 1 3/4" dials on the crossfeed and compound rest. The backlash on the crossfeed is.014" and the compound is.006" The bed has numerous dings on the top of the vee ways that don't really effect use, the wear on the bed is very minimum at less than.003" I did a basic test which involves having a dial indicator contact the flat way the tailstock rides on which receives little wear with the magnetic base of the indicater on the carriage and running the length of the bed all the way up to right against the head stock wear it receives zero wear I get about 2 1/2 thousands of an inch drop in the middle of the bed. This lathe comes just as shown, nothing else included, no tools are accessories. The carriage lock bolt is there but the clamping block is missing. The over all dimensions of the lathe are 58 1/2" L x 22 1/2" W and 48" overall height. This cabinet design allows the lathe to be pushed right up to the wall. This auction is for an Unknown quick change tool post and five holders. It lacks the post and t-nut. The winning bidder will need to come up with or make their own T nut and post. The tool post block that sits on the compound slide to the underside of the handle measures 2.25" There are 5 tool holders with the set. A cut-off tool holder. Two other conventional tool holders, boring holder and a combo tool holder w/ conventional on one side and knurling tool on other(two knurls on it) The tool holders are interchangeable to either position although the tool holder for the cut-off tool should always be used in the left side position. The large boring bar is 3/4" diameter(I think! with a sleeve in it to adapt down to 5/8" These are all very nice tool holders. I*THINK*this is a tool post for an 9-12" swing lathe.
