Rockwell Hinge butt template jig #59380 for use with router
This is a very adjustable Rockwell 3-hinge but routing template. Neither son or son-in-law will ever use it. I have and it works well. Did not get any instructions with it. But it sure makes the job easier for cutting the butts on the jamb and gains on the door an getting all the parts lined up. I took it apart for shipping so it is more compact. One of the rails has a slight bend at the end but should be easily straightened. You will need a router collet with your machine to do the cuts. Skil Vintage Old #17070 Hinge Butt Template Kit with Metal Box & Brass Hardware
This set was used often by a master carpenter and framer. It is missing one of the original pegs/marker but is easily replaced with a comparable nail as shown in pictures. The template and rods are in good shape with hardly any rust. The metal box is obviously highly rusted and the carry handle needs to be fixed but that should be easy. The metal case reads"83038 Bosch Deluxe Hinge Butt Template" The instruction book reads"83037 Door and Jamb Hinge Templet" The directions talk about hinge fittings as well. So these may be interchangeable, but really, I don't know. I'll send you everything you see in the photo(except the white plastic ruler) This is dusty and dirty, but solid. I was hoping there was a part count in the instructions, but there isn't. Almost 18 pounds to ship, so please check calculator before bidding, as it will be expensive to ship. Black and Decker hinge butt template kit for use with a router to cut the hinge mortises on doors and jambs. This was an estate sale acquisition and I DO NOT HAVE THE OPERATORS INSTRUCTIONS for it. You will receive all the pieces shown in the pictures including the template parts. Steel case, guide bushing(for the router) and 1 router bit(may or may not be usable) I think all the important pieces are present(from looking at pictures of others) but I am not absolutely sure. Other than some scarring from use and handling the only damage I see is some of the wing nuts(used for adjustment) have some of the ears broken off. A couple of bucks(or so) at the hardware store should cure this problem. The steel case is very solid, but it has significant scars from years of handling. This was an estate sale acquisition and did not come with operating instructions. I did find and copy instructions and a parts list(for model 49-54-0101. But it appears identical) on the internet, they are included. I believe this item is complete and usable. Also included is one template bushing for the router and one mortising bit(the bit is of questionable value) This tool has some rust and scarring from age, storage and handling. Some of the heads of screws holding this item together are burred and the spring loaded nails(these would hold it to the jamb) are in pretty rough condition, but usable. The spring loaded nails are shown in the parts list to be available in packages of 12. This was an estate sale acquisition and is offered in as found condition. According to the included instructions this hinge butt template will accomadate 2 to 4 hinges on 6 to 9 foot doors. I did a brief inventory of this kit and I think it's complete except for 1 stop pin and 1 nail(800629) My other concern is the adjusting channels. There are three 859647(for 4 hinge 7-8 ft. doors. Three 858554(for 4 hinge 8-9 ft. door) and four 858562(3 hinge 6-7 ft. doors) The potential problem here is(I think) you would only need two of the 858562 and there should probably be two others. The steel case is very solid, but it has significant scars(including rust, paint over spray and dents) from years of handling. ... moreIt will still serve its intended purpose for years to come. In doing a bit of internet research it appears this kit is identical to it's Porter Cable counter part and it appears parts are readily available. As you can see instructions and a parts list(kind of shabby) are included.
