Hello everybody I am selling my beloved Trek Y 11. Here's a brief History: I had ordered one in 1998(my 1st eBay purchase) I made the mistake of buying a LARGE frame. I am 5' 8" and it was a little larger than I expected. I did however fall in love with the it. After years and I mean years of searching I finally found this size SMALL frame that was PERFECT for me and I would assume perfect for anybody 5'6" 5'9" I'm a bit older now and as much as I love her and hate to see her go I would rather somebody enjoy it than have it sit in my shed collecting dust. This is a lightly used Tamer XC Hardcore Post Centrik carbon fiber suspension seatpost. The post's diameter is 27.2mm. The overall length of the seatpost is 345mm(13 5/8 inches) from the bottom edge up to the center grooves of the clamp that grip the seat rails. The lower 212mm(8 1/4 inches) of the post is the carbon fiber portion. And this is as far into the seat tube as the post can be inserted. The upper 130mm(5 1/8 inches) of the post, measured from the top of the carbon fiber section up to the centers of the clamp grooves, widens out to a slightly larger diameter. That means that when the post is inserted down into the seat tube as far as it will go, the rails of the saddle will be 130mm above the top of the seat tube. The post is in very good used condition. The carbon fiber portion has only a few, very minor, scratches from being ... moreinserted into the seat tube. The post comes set up with three blue soft ride elastomers(for rider weights of 60 to 140 pounds) It also comes with three red medium ride elastomers(for rider weights of 145 to 180 pounds) and two orange hard ride elastomers(for riders weights of 185 to 250 pounds) I think if you would probably have to separately purchase a third orange elastomer to set the post up for that heaviest rider weight, though. The post has a preload adjuster inside the bottom end that requires a 5mm allen wrench to adjust. Included with the post is the original factory instruction sheet. Carbon Fiber Seatpost Seat Post 27.1 MM (labeled 27.2), 370 MM long
I bought this at a Garage Sale. I am too lax in the way I ride and maintain my bike. A Specialized Roubaix(Triple! I am drowning in"stuff. So I want to sell. Only 28 grams! or 8.7 ounces. And that includes the black tape wrapped around the post. I measured the diameter in several places. My readings varied from 27.08 MM to 27.12 MM. The red lettering on the post is"027.2X35" Overall length is 39 CM. Length above red line is 29 CM. I am including the bottom half of the metal bracket- the actual CF tube itself is 35 CM. The post feels remarkably rigid- I could not feel any flex. But I'm not as strong as I used to be. I couldn't find anything wrong with them other than the scratches shown in the photos. I would have absolutely no reservations about using this seat post. Price: My"starting" auction price is high ... morebecause it's worth something to me as a spare for my personal bike(a Specialized Roubaix) But money is good. Less"stuff" is good, so if I can find a buyer who finds that price OK, then it's a good deal for both of us. Condition: Used. But 100% functional and I think looks decent. The post was cut to fit a special frame so it's a bit shorter than stock. Still plenty of length for most frames! It is 25cm long from the bottom to the seat rails. 15cm from the top down is very clean! There is a super light insertion mark which isn't too noticable.
