This is a vintage Pelton Crane instument sterilizer. It looks to have been heavily used in its day. One handle on the removable basket has a chipped corner. Might need the vent valve replaced in the future.as its the only valve left that hasn't been replaced. They are 89 dollars online. Update: fired the autoclave up today after two weeks sitting. The vent valve leaks now as diagnosed by the widely available trouble shooting diagram of the unit. There was some leakage around the door gasket so it will need an new one. The cap is missing for the water tank. This unit has been in storage for a while. Anything that involves steam and pressure should be checked out by a professional before use. This unit is nice and clean inside and out" The above description is from the seller I bought from about a month ago. I bought this a month ago because mine broke. I ordered and replaced the door gasket because it needed it. By the time the gasket came in the part for my auto-clave came in. I was able to fix my clave and ended up not needing this one. Up for auction is Pelton& Crane Sterilizer. Model 216. It has been in my family since new. My father was a GP here in NC and practiced medicine from 1938 thru 1973. I am not sure when he purchase it, but I do remember it being in his office when I was as young as 8 years old(1956) I have checked this and it heats fine. It has three setting for heat: Fast, Medium and Slow. It also has a temp setting from 200 degrees to 300 degrees. I have had it stored for many years and just decided to sell it. I checked it out to make sure it worked and it did. The inside compartment is 16" long by 6 inches wide and about 4" deep. It has a small tray and a full length tray. From what I can see, I think it was made of brass and chromeplated over that. The cord is fine. Also, it comes with a wall mounting bracket. This is how he had it mounted ... morein his office. I am setting a price I feel is reasonable, but will also accept offers on this unit. The shipping weight with the sterilizer and bracket is about 25 lbs.
