ANTIQUE RIBBED GLASS BANANA BOWL SCALLOP RIM 1/2 Inch Thick, in a Metal Basket
This early American pressed glass bowl in a leaf decorated metal basket is in very good condition. The bowl is ribbed. And the top edge is scalloped. The metal basket has a silver patina and does not show any sign or tarnish or rust, although there are very small dents at the top of both side loops of the basket. Because of the uniformity of the"dents" I think they are original design elements. The glass bowl is 9 3/4 inches long, 4 1/2 inches high at the ends, and is 5 1/2 inches wide. The metal basket is 10 inches long by 4 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide. This banana bowl belonged to my late mother-in-law who would have been 101 years of age, so it is quite old. Vintage Solid COBALT BLUE 7 1/2 inch Tall Wine Glass Goblet
Up for auction is a vintage solid cobalt blue wine glass/goblet. It is in excellent. Like new condition and I cannot find any scratches or chips anywhere on it. The heavy duty and very stout blue glass weighs approximately 7.2 ounces. The diameter across the top measures approximately 2 inches and the base is approximately 2 1/2 inches. The photos don't do this beautiful glass justice! I'm so sorry my camera was unable to capture the beautiful deep bluish-purple coloring that makes cobalt stand out! I didn't go to great lengths to clean these two. But they are empty and non-greasy. I also almost didn't list them as I find the size and capacity very convenient, much better than the giants I have in my shop. The Golden Rod, mfd. by Dutton-Lainson Co. measures 4 1/2" tall with a 4 1/4 inch spout. The can is aluminum. The Eaglet is 4" tall and has a 4 1/2" spout. It's not aluminum. When taking them apart I also lubricated the handle assemblies which were sticky and made sure that both worked. Gaskets are good, too. The Golden Rod has one sharp dent near the top and a number of smaller ones all over. The Eaglet is missing some of its graphics, but there are no dents anywhere. For this item.
