up for sale today is a rare vintage stihl 040 chainsaw. saw is in very good shape for its age. it does run and the oiler works but I think it needs carb cleaned out as I was told it has been sitting for a long time. the guy I received this saw from said it was restored some number of years ago but didn't know exactly when. it does however seem like whoever restored this thing put some time and attention to detail in it has very good compression and plug produces a nice bright spark 20" bar and new chain I got this saw through a trade deal and I really have no use for it so maybe someone out there can find use for it. appears to have new gaskets all around there are a few paint chips and scuffs(as seen in pictures) here and there so saw is not perfect but way cleaner than most for its age. all the cases and covers look to be crack ... moreand damage free. The wire still weighs a little over 25lbs. with the spool. So I know I didn't use more than one or two lbs. off of this spool. I don't think I will ever need any more stainless wire with the welding I do, so I am selling this wire and starting the bidding at a bargain price. As you know, stainless wire is very expensive.
