1795 Gold Spade Guinea Counter Simcox Please do not confuse this piece with those late 19th and 20th centuries gaming counters that were made in imitation of those made in the late 1700s. Those things are what they are. Not collectible at all. Our piece was actually struck in 1795 as a gaming counter in imitation of gold guinea. Simcox made this type of tokens from 1791-1796. This piece is unlisted in Neilson's Thousand Guineas catalog. He lists#3650 as being 24mm and#3660 as being 25mm. Our piece measures 24.5mm so will call it#3655. Scarce piece! Sales Tax: For shipment within New York State. 8% sales tax will be added to invoice, unless the buyer has a resale certificate with filled-in ST-120 form.
