Later model with built in uncoupled single range light meter. Meter works and seems ok. But is not tested for accuracy. The shutter seems accurate but there is a problem. The shutter capping blades do not close completely at slow speeds below 1/15. The leather is 100% complete and intact. A very good case is included. This auction is for a nice post-war T coated Carl Zeiss Jena Contax rangefinder Sonnar 4/135 lens. The optical quality of these Jena Contax lenses is generally found equal or better than their West-German versions. Both Jena and Oberkochen lenses were sold with Contax IIIa and IIa in the US. The optics are clean with no scratches on the lens surfaces or haze. Dust, or fungus inside. The aperture blades are free of oil and the mechanics works smoothly. The aluminum barrel has normal signs of wear. I have used this lens both on film cameras and on a digital Leica M9 with an adapter with excellent results. This auction is for a very well cared for Zeiss Ikon Nettar with a F4.5 75mm Novar-Anastigmat lens. The camera produces a 6x6 cm image on 120 film. It is in very nice condition and fully functional. A small amount of finish is missing on the door hinge area and a few patches of rust are present on wear areas on the film tension springs in the film compartments. There are some minor scuffs and scratches to the bare metal finish-but no defects. There is one small bend in the hotshot slide. See photos. This camera produces very sharp images and does not scratch film during film advance. The bellows is in very good condition and has no light leaks. The interior of the camera is clean. The base has a 1/4 inch thread for tripod or quick-shoe use. This model of the Nettar has a safety film advance mechanism that prevents double exposures-the film ... moreknob must be advanced before the shutter button will release the shutter. Even when the shutter is cocked. A very useful feature in the field when busy dealing with various preoccupations-wind, composing, exhaustion, bears, etc. The lens is clear without defect to coatings or element surfaces. There is a small amount on internal lens dust-of no consequence to image making. The simple Velio shutter is clean. Nearly new-looking and works through its entire shutter speed range. The shutter speeds sound about right, including the slower ones. The B function works properly. The shutter button can accept a shutter cable. The lens is a 3 element design that will equal the edge to edge image resolution of a higher-end Tessar 4 element design when stopped down to F11 to F22. This lens is perfect for landscapes when used with a tripod. I've read the Novar-Anastigmats were optimized for infinity focus and have found from experience that excellent corner to corner resolution in landscape photographs is optioned when setting the focus reasonably close to the infinity mark and just stopping down the lens to between F16 to F22. The camera works on all speeds and the speeds are accurate, the self timer works, flash syn works, view finder is clear, shutter curtains have ZERO light leaks the shutters were tested with a high powered LED light there are NO pin-holes. The camera has of course been tested with film and its works good the only problem is the view finder is dark because Pentacon wasn't that good at designing a slr mirror system other then that the camera works like new. A solid pair of marked binoculars clearly dated 1918 as you can see in the pictures. Marks on right side are 1918 and D.F. 6 X 24 with the number 864173. Marks on the left are CARL ZEISS JENA. Zoom over the pictures to see the marks. First picture shows glasses with eye pieces adjusted all the way out. Second picture shows the other side. Third and 4th pictures show glass intact and the 5th pictures shows condition of the rubber around the eye pieces. They came with this black cord when we bought them. They have some of the black rubbed off but considering they are 96 years old they are in good condition. They measure about 4" tall with the eye pieces opened out full as shown in pictures 1 and 2.
