The machine has been sitting off and on for 2 years so the paint is faded a bit. This is a very good dependable strong running machine. I replaced the turbo, fuel supply pump, and the radiator has been taken off and rodded out. I also have 2 extra sets of knives. One set is brand new. This machine weighs 9500 lbs. It has a tinned steel frame. With a steel cutting grid, cast aluminum base block, and red-painted wood handles with silver accent lines. This tinned steel potato chipper operates something like a scissors lift. Moving the handles together raised the cutting grid. Forcing them apart lowers the grid onto the potato to cut your French fries. The cutting grid is about 3" square, with a 6 x 6 grid, so you'll get up to 3 dozen 1/2" thick fries with each cut. Wood Chipper 6.5 HP. Yard Machine MTD. ENGINE WON'T PULL OVER. Ran great. $90
MTD wood chipper. Engine won't turn over because it is stuck. Did not use last year but used the year before. Chipped like crazy. Really worked good. Now nothing. I'm not sure if letting it sit for over a year has anything to do with it. It was weather protected and had a tarp wrapped around it. Maybe a cog in the pulling mechanism or something else stuck in the recoil. I did not even take it apart. Pictures show where I re-supported the housing onto the frame. Sold as is. May or may not be an easy fix. Just don't know but oil is not the issue so I'm pretty sure the engine did not seize up. Oil was filled up and not dirty. Either repair or for parts. This is a 1988 Wood Chuck Wood Chipper. It does have a 4 cylinder Onan Deere Diesel Engine. This unit has not been operated in about 3 years but was operating when stored. The engine will start and run for about a minute. It does sound good. There is a fuel problem either the seperator/filter and/or fuel pump. The tires must be replaced before using.
