Antique Continental Beech Wood Dug-Out Handled Dough Bowl Pie Keeper Trencher
You are invited to bid on this lovely antique dug-out wooden bowl. Dating to approximately the early 19th century. I think it is possibly a dough bowl, pie keeper or trencher. I believe it to be made of beech wood and think it is possibly Continental. maybe Scandinavian. It bowl is dug out of a sturdy piece of wood. There are handles at the ends which have been decorated with crude craving of zig-zags. There are traces of red colour banding on the round part of the handles. This bowl was obviously much loved and considered important enough to repair- a piece of wood has been fastened into one side of the bowl- this was clearly done some considerable time ago because the'new' wood is nicely weathered. There is some wear to the opposite side of the bowl where it looks as though the original surface has been worked back to make it match ... morethe damaged side. Again, this was done a considerable amount of time ago. Overall the bowl has a lovely aged patina and a real feel of history attached to it, and I can imagine it in a late Georgian kitchen. This lovely antique piece almost 20" across at the handles. By 13.5" by 2" deep. It is in good condition for its age. A lovely piece of antique woodenware. And a fine addition to your collection. They have a lovely script monogram on the side and a great wide bottom to prevent spillage. It is a great for use in the holidays or simple everyday entertaining. Case 460 Ride on Trencher. (Low Hours)
Up for auction is my 1997 Case 460 Ride on Trencher. The unit is powered by a Kubota diesel engine V1505-E. The unit is equipped with a backhoe attachment(Model D100) This attachment has a bucket with 3 teeth and is 12" wide. Just below the backhoe attachment is a 6 way blade. The rear is equipped with a trencher knife(with one tooth missing from chain) There is a roll over protection bar over the driver’s seat. The unit also has a hydra borer drive. But I do not have any of the boring attachments that fits the drive. This unit has 412 hours on meter. Yes that is correct. I bought this unit with 321.8 hours(see original photo of hour meter) for a planned expansion of my Mobile Home Park in Missouri. With the past downturn in the economy the project was cancelled and I occasionally used the unit for odd jobs in the park. Mostly to repair ... morewater and sewer line. Is 14 ½ inches wide on one end, 12 ½ inches wide on the other end, and is approx. 4 inches tall measured from a flat surface. All hand hewn and chiseled. I really like how if one looks at the bowl from the side, you can see how it rises and falls, an attractive undulation. There are no cracks or repairs to this bowl, just good old fashioned wear, darkening in the right areas, and a rich even warm patina.

Toro Trencher TRX19
We are upgrading our trenchers and selling this Toro TRX19. It was bought new by us February 10. 2010. It is set up with a 36" bar with a 6" cut. It comes with the Kawasaki 20 HP engine that was replaced with a new engine at 200 hours. For some reason, we had a catastrophic failure on the original motor and Toro replaced it with a new one. The chain was also replaced at around 250 hours to a 50-50 chain. This unit is approximately 34" wide, 93" long, 46" high, weighs about 1200lbs. This trencher is ready to go to work as soon as you get it home. It also comes with the optional backfill blade, shown in the pictures. The backfill blade works well in light sand, but not so well in heavy dirt. If you are not familiar with the Toro, it is very easy to operate and with the tracks, is very stable. Huge Antique Primitive Hand Carved Wood Trencher Dough Bowl
For your bidding consideration: A Huge Antique Primitive Hand Carved Wooden Trencher Dough Bowl. This remarkable large primitive bowl is in great antique condition. With the exception of an approximate 4" split on one side at the top center. The bowl is still strong in spite of this, but I am not an expert on wood repairs, so have left it as is for the next owner to repair or not. There is an indented/shaved area next to the split where possibly the bowl may have fallen and caused the split. There is a similar indent on the outside of the opposing side of the bowl, but no split. Neither of these areas are weak or look to be in danger of further breakage, but these rough areas have a lighter wood tone and are noticeable to the eye. The bowl has a lighter tone band on both sides that extend down as far as the base, and I don't know ... morethe reason for them because they don't seem to be repairs and don't go through to the inside. Aside from these defects(which, to my eye, give the bowl great primitive character) the bowl has some minor dings and scratches, especially on the underside, and numerous cut marks on the interior, all of which would be expected for an antique wooden bowl which has been heavily used. These all attest to its history, age, and great primitive look. This bowl will appeal to those seeking the well-worn beauty and character of a true primitive piece. But its minor antique flaws obviously are too many to itemize in great detail. Please study all of the photos. I have tried to capture as much detail as possible in my photos. Ask any questions you may have prior to end of auction, and I will gladly furnish any additional information. I don't know the bowl's history or exact age, but estimate age to be mid to later 1800s. It appears to have been hand carved from one large piece of wood and has a beautiful dark wood tone(guessing perhaps black walnut, but cannot be sure) The outer surfaces have slight variations in wood tone. 4 vintage Stoware BOWLS Stowe Vermont Country SOLID WOOD Bowl Small Trencher
Here are four nice old vintage solid wood turned bowls by Stoware made in Stowe. Vermont. Great shapes and mellow patina, each measures approx. 6" in diameter x 2" high, since they are hand turned the sizes vary slightly. The interior of each has beautiful graining and once re-oiled, the graining will show even more. The outside finish on each is not perfect but can be cleaned up with minimal effort and left as is as well. There is one bowl with a dark mark, almost looks like a burn mark, however it is part of the graining and is not damaged. I believe the wood is maple but could also be cherry. The trencher was imported from Eastern Europe. It is rectangular in shape and has rounded long handles on each end to carry it by. The handles make a wing, or bat, shape on the end of the trencher. It is rectangular in shape and measures 42" L x 14" W x 5.25" 7" D and it weighs 8 lbs. It is a beautiful trencher. It is a nice rich brown color and has the depth to the natural wood. The inside is a very dark brown. Trenchers like this are becoming more and more rare! There are a number of worm holes in this bowl. This is normal as these old bowls typically have hundreds of worm holes. Like this one. This bowl leans to one ... moreside. This is also fairly normal as typically these bowls lean or twist significantly as they were often used every day and would get wet during use. Over time, they twist or lean slightly as they get wet, dry, and get wet. You can see the form in the pictures. What character! It has old world charm including many evidences of being hand carved from one single piece of wood. There's some spotting and discoloration from years of use as you can see in the pictures. This wasn't a decoration but rather a working trencher! It has many character scratches to the interior and spotting or differences in color from age and use. Look at the color. WOW! We have tried to show all of this in the photos. As mentioned above. It sits with a lean and sits 6.75" 5.25" at the right and 7" 6.5" at the left in the second picture. You can see the lean in the end shot(3rd picture) These unique characteristics are indicative of old trenchers and are a defining character of being made before machines took over and hand made nuances became a rare item. EACH of our bowls are COMPLETELY Unique. NO TWO are ever exactly alike. This is trencher 1092. The design was inspired from the really GIANT ones that Rick does for the big harvest tables. We received several requests from those who wanted something similar but shorter(because not everyone HAS a huge harvest table) AND we had inquiries from those wanting an even DEEPER trencher. THIS design reflects those two requests. Keep in mind a lot of work goes into a trencher like this because it takes a bigger piece of wood to achieve the DEPTH.Plus it's MUCH harder to carve that much depth. Rick then repeatedly distressed and finished this with our special bees wax to achieve a wonderfully Primitive look. And BECAUSE of the distressing/waxing process these are NOT suitable for rolling dough or raw foods(although they're fine for storing foods ... morewith shells or peels.oranges.certain nuts.bananas.things like that) There will be slight wood splits to the lip on some of these bowls. It's just natural to the wood and happens during the drying process. We oil them and wax them in so that they blend naturally with the surrounding patina. This one has a 1 7/8" split to the lip(you can see it at the bottom of the first picture below) It just adds to the rustic and rugged authentic(old) look of the piece and affects nothing. These are not MEANT to look"perfect" Rather they are meant to replicate the way the crudely carved old authentic ones looked. THAT said. The split on this one was so small that Rick didn't bother adding a leather strapping to it like he does on some of our bowls(see the others to see what I mean) IF YOU would like him to cover it with a leather strapping, he'll be happy to do it for you.
