Tektronix 2465 Oscilloscope WORKS PERFECTLY w/ 2x P6139A, HP 1160A, P6131 PROBES
Back in 2009 at MIT. I was given two Tek 2465's, none of which was working. I used the parts from one to make the other one working. I did a complete teardown and rebuild, and then thoroughly and carefully cleaned and calibrated the scope. I also serviced the fan(cleaned and re-lubricated the bearings) It has been my main and very trusted scope for these last four years now. I am very sad to let it go. But I am about to start grad school and need a way to pay it. This Tek 2465 is in EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION. All functions and ranges are working and it has been calibrated to the best of the equipment available to me. I am including FOUR probes with a pouch and many add-ons(see pictures) TWO Tektronix 6139A in PERFECT condition. These are 500MHz probes. And have seen very little use. These go for ~$100 each on ebay. ONE HP 1160A working ... morePERFECT with the box and almost every accessory(see pic) Another 500MHz probe. The only small problem it has is that the top plastic shell is missing from the scope-end of the probe. This has no effect on the probe functioning. These go for ~$100-200 each on ebay. ONE Tek 6131A. working well but does have some scratch marks(doesn't affect the performance) I am including two replacement resistor tips. I am showing a picture of all four probes connected to the calibration output showing that all four channels work and all probes are compensated ok. Another picture shows all self tests are passed. I am also including the parts from the other 2465 scope. Main board. Digital boards, HV power supply, controls/knobs board, and a bag of screws. These boards contain all parts and haven't been"stripped" I believe most of them work fine. I believe I threw away the parts that were broken. Please message with any questions or for more pictures. These are Tektronix plugin's for the 1990's era 7XXX mainframe oscilloscope. 7A26 dual trace amplifier which is the standard plugin for a x1 or x10 probe. The B channel knob is partially broken but it still works. 7A19 input amplifier for 50ohm interconnect. 7B87 time base with a pretrigger acquire clock. These are standard Tek plugins and should work in any 7XXX series Tek oscilloscope and are a steal at $33 each. These came with a couple other oscilloscopes that I purchased at an auction and I don't need these plugins. Exact specifications may be found a various web sites or I can email you if interested. The 7934 is top of the line for the 7000 series oscilloscopes and the 7B92A's are close if not the top of the line for 7000 series Time Bases. This piece is really clean overall and is ready to go into a Tektronix museam. Powers up fine every time. Fan is working and is quiet. Both channels of the 7A26 were tested and they work. Both 7B92A's were tested and they work. The storage function was tested and it works. See the 3rd picture for the storage function test. I have not found anything on the mainframe or plug-in modules that is not working. These are some scuffs. Scraps and sticker/sticker residue on various places of the unit. I bought this nice Tektronix 465 Oscilloscope at an estate sale while trying to buy vintage watches. I ran the Tek Probe P6105(100MHz) from both channel 1 and channel 2 to the test port and got the square wave as displayed on the scope's display. From what I can tell this scope works fine on both channels and all the switches for voltage and time per division are functioning. The trigger levels all work and the scope. In my opinion, should be good to go. The display is crisp and bright. The focus and intensity knobs all function. So does the X10 Magnifier. This Tek 465 has a serial# B275486. The Tektronix probe kit comes with the manual. And case as shown in the picture. As well as the Tektronix p6053b probe with a 6ft cable. These probes came out of a working environment, but have not been tested since. Any MegaPulse surge test output can be correctly measured with a Tektronix P6015 high voltage probe. Originally this probe was supplied with a Freon dielectric. This dielectric is not included in our used P6015 probes. Without the Freon dielectric the P6015 probe is rated to 13kV from dc to 1MHz. Measurement of any MegaPulse impulse test falls within this range. The P6015 has been replaced by the Tektronix P6015A which uses a different and more environmentally friendly dielectric but is otherwise identical in construction and specification to the original P6015 probe. Calibration of the Tektronix P6015 MUST be done whenever it ... moreis connected to a different oscilloscope. Calibration consists of trimming capacitors to obtain a perfect square wave; and setting the peak to agree with a known waveform. The calibration procedure is contained in the Tektronix p6015 manual. Miniature fast-rise 10X probe designed for Tek instruments having a nominal input capacitance of 15 to 24 pF. The probe has a pushbutton for actuating the trace-identify function of the o'scope mainframe and readout. Capability.
