Offered here is a Jacobs 1/2" Drill Chuck. A Tail Stock Center, and an original South bend Pad Center which had been used on a 9" South bend Lathe. The Drill Chuck and Centers have#2 Morse Taper Shanks, so they would also be suitable for use on other lathes like the 10" South Bend 10-K, Atlas, Craftsman, etc. The drill chuck comes with the key, and the center drill shown in the picture is included.

You are looking at a nice heavy duty USA made Southbend Metal Lathe lantern style tool holder. It is in good condition despite a few small minor nicks and blemishes because of use. Size dimensions are as follows: 3/4 in diameter 2 hight at the top of the slot and bottom of the tool 7/16 slot width lower plate dimensions are as follows 1/4 thick 1 3/8 X 1 1/4 Also I have added a 3/8 inch lathe wrench. There are some grinding marks on the rocker wedge because it was hand made but it functions fine. South Bend Heavy 10 Lathe for Parts or Restoration Will Ship
Up for auction is a used South Bend Heavy 10 lathe for parts or rebuild. I got this as part of a larger package of machines. And have not used it, so I have decided to sell it. It appears that the company that had it used some kind of cut off slide in place of the cross slide. So the lathe runs, but is missing the cross slide and compound, the tailstock, and the selector lever to engage the lead screw. This is a perfect starting point to assemble a nice lathe without a huge initial investment. Motor is 3 phase but installing a single phase motor should be no problem for use in a home shop. Ways are in good shape, and it has a 3-1/2 foot bed on a cabinet base. Please look carefully at the pictures. If you need a picture of anything else or a close up shot of anything, please ask. 18 pitch change gears compatible with many small bench type lathes. All have 1/2" face and 5/8" bore with keyway. 5 are cast iron and look to be oem South Bend. And 10 are steel. All are near mint condition with exception of one 24T which is pitted on sides only. Tooth count is: 2x24, 25, 40, 50, 56, 62, 68, 74, 80, 82, 89, 95, 101, 111 These came from a 9" South Bend that had been reengineered to wind coils.

Tail Stock from 9" South Bend Lathe with Bed Clamp - Drill Chuck - Center
Offered here is a tail stock that came from the spare parts room of a local company. I was told that this was from a 9" South bend Lathe. Although i did not see it mounted on the lathe. To help determine if this will fit your lathe, here are the dimensions and information I have. Please note that measurements were taken with a ruler, so they are close but probably not exact. From the flat way to the center of the spindle measures approximately 4-5/8" And from the center of the Vee way to the inside of the Flat way measures approximately 2-1/2" The number T-100 is stamped into the rear side of the tail stock, and 56 N-1 is the number embossed on the bed clamp. It has a#2 Morse Taper quill and the unit appears to function as it should. Included is the drill chuck shown(the arbor is new and needs to be pressed into the chuck) ... moreas well as a center. The tail stock is functional and looks to be complete, but I can not verify accuracy.

Vintage 10 Inch South Bend Gear Lathe Length of bed 4’ Assortment of attachments included. Electric motor and drive belt are fairly new. Lathe is in fine working condition. I am not sure what year this lathe was built. I have not been able to locate the serial number. I believe this model lathe was built between the 1930's to the 1950's. The photo of the manufacturing floor was from 1936 I believe.
