Ltd(Japan) From what I can tell this appears to be Haji's first Battery-Operated Train Set Set includes all 4 original train cars: A"4520" Locomotive engine(5 x 1.5 x 3 inches) Union Pacific R.R. a coal car(tender car 2.75 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches) And two"Express" passenger train cars(3.5 x 1.5 x 2 inches) The train cars are made of tin with plastic bottoms and wheels. The wheels are 1 inch apart. Train set is tested and working. Locomotive uses one"C" battery. And has an On/Off lever. No corrosion or damage in the battery compartment. The engine was recently test-run and performed excellently in both directions along with operating red marker lights and center cowcatcher light. As shown-tender-less-the engine. In order to operate has to have one transformer DC power connection on one outside rail and the other transformer DC power connection on the tender draw bar post beneath the engineer's cab. Apparently when designed, Williams two rail Challengers needed the accompanying tender to operate-one DC power connection was made through the tender draw bar attachment to the locomotive, otherwise, the engine will not operate unless some type of electrical connection is ... moremade at the locomotive's tender draw bar post. This Williams O scale two rail Challenger does not have a smoke unit, but does have operating marker lights and cowcatcher light. As shown in the picture with my pen pointing at a small black detail handrail on the cowcatcher, the black detail handrail on the opposite side is missing, but I believe this is a minor problem and can be easily replaced or constructed from any piece of very thin piano wire. The wire exiting the rear of the engineer's cab is most likely used to power the back-up tender lights, but I am not 100% sure of this. The two tone gray paint and UP markings are exceptionally clean and crisp. From the pictures of the locomotive's underside, it appears this engine does not have much running time; most likely because the tender is missing.
