FAIRBANKS MORSE HIT AND MISS ENGINE BLOWTORCH
Fairbanks Morse Hit and Miss Engine Blowtorch– This heavy. Quart-size blowtorch was manufactured by the Fairbanks Morse Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The torch has a welded steel tank, steel pump assembly and drip cup, and massive bronze burner. These blowtorches with their vertically-oriented burners were designed to heat the glow bulbs on early stationary engines(see photo) prior to the incorporation of the spark plug. The tank measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and is almost 5 1/2 inches in height. Total height of the torch is 13 1/2 inches. The marking“YF1214A” cast into the bottom of the drip cup, is believed to be a part number as this same drip cup is seen on other Fairbanks torches. The applied label soldered to the front of the tank reads“CAUTION DO NOT USE GASOLINE” and“FAIRBANKS MORSE CO. As the photos show, the torch is in excellent ... morecondition. This is a Flywheel for an old Cushman Cub 2 H.P. Stationary/ Farm Engine. It is in good USED condition. This is a part that is pretty tough to locate. In any CONDITION. The starting crank handle is some what worn in the pin area& you may want to knock the pin out of it& cut a new piece of pipe to match for a new handle. Alpha DeLaval Model W 1-1/2 h.p. Hit and Miss Engine
Alpha DeLaval Hit and Miss Engine 1-1/2 h.p. Model W Type E171 Nice running engine. That was originally used to power a vacuum pump for milking cows. An engine with the vacuum pump set-up can be seen on Harry's Old Engine Page#8 on the Net. I don't have the vacuum pump and am selling"just the engine" This engine was manufactured some time after 1923, as that's when the"now pricy" Wico EK magneto came out. This Alpha still has the"hard to find" original brass oiler on it. There is a new heavy gauge fuel tank on it. Sorry about the light green paint. It needs to meet up with a can of olive drab to go better with the old original olive drab Alpha De Laval paint. The engine was disassembled. Cleaned, and inspected. The cylinder was lightly honed. And the valves and valve seats were ground. It has great ... morecompression. The main bearings were in nice shape. The rod bearing is a little rough. But was re-shimmed and should be okay for quite a while. New bearings are available from Hit and Miss Enterprises. I finished up this engine last Fall. And ran it several times for about an hour total. It started easy. And maintained rated speed nicely. It has a"non original" muffler. But believe repo's are available. Local Pick Up only. Nice Original ALLEN Magnet Magneto Charger Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor WOW
This is a very hard to find original factory built magnet charger made by the ALLEN Company in Michigan. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for a slight blemish on the edge of the top. It has the original name tag on it and also nice original paint and the wire leads are in excellent condition. It measures about 9 1/2 inches wide x 5 1/2 inches deep and is 5 1/4 inches tall. It is fresh from the estate of an old John Deere dealer where it was used in their shop. Most of these chargers could be used with 6 or 12 volts but work great with 6. I haven't tried it but I see absolutely no reason that it wouldn't work. John Deere Letz 220A Burr Mill for a Hit and Miss Engine or Tractor
This is a nice John Deere Letz 220A burr mill. These were made by the Letz Manufacturing Company and sold through John Deere. It still has some good lettering on it. The burr mill works as it should and could be ran with a tractor or a hit and miss engine. Use it at a show to draw a crowd and grind some corn. There are grease zerks to keep the turning shafts greased up good and it has an adjustment knob to control how fine or course you grind. There is also a nice serial tag still on the burr mill. I will not ship this item. It will have to be picked up here in Dyersville. Ia. and can stay here until May as long as it has been payed for.

Original IHC Famous Titan Mogul Hit Miss Gas Engine Cast Iron Belt Pulley NICE!
This is a real nice original cast iron pulley for an International Harvester Famous. Titan, Mogul, or Type M gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It measures 12 inches in diameter with a 8 1/2 inch face. It is part number G357 and mounts to every other spoke of the flywheel on an 8 7/16 inch on center bolt pattern. This pulley will fit the 4 and 6hp Famous and Titan engines. It should also fit the 4 and 6hp Mogul engines along with the 6 and 10hp M's. It likely fits the 10hp Mogul and Famous engines. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. The only flaw that I've noted is the holes in the face of it as someone had some lagging mounted to it at some point in its life. These holes would be easy to fill and blend but the pulley works fine just the way it ... moreis. These original pulleys are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! Original 1 1/2 IHC Type M Hit Miss Gas Engine Antique Motor Steam Tractor WOW
This is a pretty decent original and barn fresh 1 1/2hp Type M International Harvester gas engine. It seems to be in pretty good condition but needs some restoration. It has a larger belt pulley on it with some old belt dressing built up on it. It is missing the magneto. Handhole cover and a few other small items. It has a homemade reproduction gas tank that looks great. The bottom of the fuel pump needs to be repaired or replaced. There is also a very old repair on the rocker arm. The engine is loose and shows very little wear on the governor fork. It should be a pretty straightforward restoration project and has some decent original paint on it yet. The nice part about restoring IHC Type M's is that nearly all of the parts are available from the hobby vendors. The pictures tell the story. Original WOOD Dynamo Generator Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original WOOD dynamo or generator. It was built by the Fort Wayne Electric Works in Fort Wayne. Indiana. The last patent date on the serial tag is 1894. I'm not an expert on these but it seems to be in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. The fella I got it from said he removed it from it's original installation just last year. It turns nicely with very little wear in the bearings. I don't know if anything is missing on the working end so look at the pictures carefully. There are two original brush holders on it and the other posts look like they never had anything on them. The dynamo measures about 21 inches tall, 18 inches wide, and 31 1/2 inches long overall. The original serial tag says that the generator is a 125 volt, 5kw, 40 amps, 1800rpm, and it has an Exciter. Old Brass Jenkins 2" Globe Valve Water Pump Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor
This is an original vintage brass globe valve. It is marked Jenkins on the body. It is a 2 inch valve with a 150lb working pressure. It is about 6 inches long overall and about 10 1/2 inches tall. It has 2 inch pipe threads and they are in perfect condition. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and the valve seems to work as it should. It has a few very light wrench marks from past service. I believe it is ready to be used on a vintage water pump or gas engine cooling setup. These originals don't turn up very often and they surely look better than anything modern. New valves like this list for about $300 so don't miss out on this one. The pictures tell the story. This piece is dirty, rusty and very raw, the motor does not spin freely and it will need much repair to get it running. Antique Thompson Engineering Co Hit Miss Gas Engine Air Cooled Portable Motor
An Antique Thompson Engineering Co Air Cooled Portable Motor in"as found" condition. We don't know much about this small motor and it it being sold"as is" just as we found it. It has a large flywheel that measures 4 1/2" in diameter with a small notch at the end. Has an overhead valve with a bronze rocker arm. Down below is a roller and cam setup. The roller on the push rod is stuck with old grease. There is a compression release valve on top that works when pressed down. When you turn the engine over you can hear light compression. This motor has a very tiny Champion spark plug just like in the gas powered aircraft motors. The fuel tank is loose and sits on an angle. It has a small painted red knurled brass cap. The side of the motor has an opening where you can see the connecting rod move up and down. It has ... morewhat looks like a car condenser attached to the ignition device. Another small electrical device encased in hard rubber was found near by and came with the motor. The base is aluminum and measures 6" by 4" The motor stands 8" high. The number"045" is cast in the base under the flywheel. Overall. A very interesting little motor. Sort of resembles the very first Briggs& Stratton lawn mower engine only smaller. VINTAGE / ANTIQUE MAYTAG MODEL 72 HIT & MISS STATIONARY ENGINE
For bid is a Maytag model 72 hit& miss engine. This engine is complete and in running condition. I worked on it last fall and got it running. Today. I put some gasoline in the tank and it started up with no problem. It runs very smooth. It was running when I took the close up pictures of the flywheel. I could not slow the shutter speed on my camera enough to show it running. There is a weld(braze) on the starter kick pedal as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The repair was done very well, but nevertheless, it was repaired. This is an underslung type mount. There is a wrench included which is also shown in the pictures. This engine is used and is being sold as/is. Anyone in the 43402 area is welcome to contact me and inspect this engine.

This mag is hot! I tripped with a screwdriver and got a brite blue spark at the points! My dad purchased this mag years ago along with some other gas engines. It didnt fit any of the engines he bought, or any we have bought since. I believe it fits a nelson bros. 1 1/2 hp. little jumbo? i am not certain this is what it is for, or it may fit others. Old 3/4 Inch Pickering Steam Tractor Engine Governor Hit Miss Magneto NICE!!
This is an extremely nice original 3/4 inch Pickering governor for a steam engine. Gas engine, or tractor. It was made by the Pickering Governor Company in Portland, Connecticut. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for a chipped pipe nipple which can easily be replaced. It turns nicely and has very mild wear in the horizontal shaft bearing and on the gears. It has the original drive pulley on it. The 3/4 inch pipe threads are in great shape. Everything on this governor moves freely. The governor measures about 15 inches tall overall. The only real flaw I've noted is that it is missing 1/2 of one of the fly balls which shouldn't be too tough to find or make. It just threads onto the stud. These governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been ... morelooking for on here's your chance. Original IHC Farmall H Tractor Kerosene Carburetor Hit Miss Engine Steam Oiler
This is a rather hard to find original kerosene carburetor for an early International Harvester Farmall H tractor or power unit. It seems to be in excellent used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for a broken screw that holds the choke plate on the shaft. Both shafts turn nicely with very little wear. It mounts to the manifold with two 5/16 inch holes 2 3/8 inches apart on center. It has a 1 1/2 inch intake and a 1 3/16 inch opening where it mounts to the manifold. It is fresh from the estate of an early tractor collector where it lived on his parts shelf for many years. It was very likely removed from a tractor and replaced with a gasoline carburetor. I think with just a little cleaning and going over it would be a usable carburetor. Old 2 Inch Pickering Steam Tractor Engine Governor Hit Miss Magneto Oiler NICE!!
This is an extremely hard to find original 2 inch Pickering governor for a steam engine. Gas engine, or tractor. It was made by the Pickering Governor Company in Portland, Connecticut. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It turns nicely and does have some wear in the horizontal shaft bearing and on the gears. The gears will be alright for quite some time but the bearing should probably be bushed which wouldn't be too tough. It has the original drive pulley on it. The 2 inch pipe threads are in great shape. Everything on this governor moves freely. The bottom mounting flange mounts on a 3 5/8 inch square bolt pattern. The governor measures about 25 1/2 inches tall overall. These governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for on here's ... moreyour chance. Original International Harvester Farmall Cub J4 Tractor Magneto Hit Miss Engine
This is a real nice original International Harvester J4 four cylinder magneto for a Farmall Cub tractor or power unit. It is in good used condition and is fresh from the estate of an early tractor collector. It is a flange mount magneto. The magneto is clockwise rotation and the impulse works perfectly. Both caps are in good condition. It is untested. These magnetos are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for any reason don't miss your chance on it. Original Webster M47 Nelson Bros Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Magneto Bracket
This is an original Webster magneto mounting ignitor bracket for a hit and miss gas engine. It is in used condition and is bracket number 303M47 and is original equipment for the 1 1/2hp Nelson Brothers and contract engines. It mounts with two 7/16 inch holes 2 1/8 inches apart on center. It may fit on other engines as well but please measure your engine to be sure. The mounting holes are slightly oblong from some previous application but still work the way they are. There is very little noticeable wear on the movable shaft or on the points and the roller and advance/retard lever works as it should. The magneto mounts on a 1 1/2 x 2 inch bolt pattern. As you can see in the photos. The mag platform has been broken off of the ignitor part of the bracket. It is a very clean, old break and should be pretty easy to repair. These Webster ignitor ... morebrackets are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if yours is missing don't miss your chance on it. Original Webster K121 Sandwich Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Magneto Bracket NICE!

Old BRASS Webster K Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Antique Motor Steam Tractor HOT!
This is a pretty nice original BRASS bodied Webster Type K oscillating magneto for a hit and miss gas engine. It has several applications in the gas engine world. It is in good used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. The original mounting threads in the brass body are perfect. It has some mild wear in the bearings and will run for a very long time. The rear cover is likely a replacement from back in it's working day. The magneto mounts to the ignitor bracket on a 2 x 2 inch square bolt pattern. The body is in excellent condition and has nice original patina. It would also polish up nicely if you so choose. It also needs a new name band which are available from several of the hobby suppliers rather inexpensively. The magnets have just been recharged. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine ... moreif it is set up properly. The trip finger is in good condition with some mild wear. These brass bodied Webster magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and the brass ones are so much nicer than the pot metal ones so don't miss your chance on it. Antique hit and miss & steam engine oil cups
This is a pair of antique brass oil cups that were used on very early gas& steam engines. Theads are 1/4" pipe. I have had them for many years and I don't believe that they were ever used. The cotton is still in one. Can only ship to the lower 48 states. Thanks for looking.
