This is a Magneto for hit and miss engine. The only marking I can see is a stamping INS on both the magnet bars. Looks to be in very good condition. Has a brass base. It sits 6 inches in height and the base is 4 x 3 1/4 inches. The mounting holes are 4 1/4 from center to center. Any questions I'll try to answer. Use, care, operation, repair, installation and trouble shooting of steam engines, gas engines and refrigeration. Covers pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about these subjects. This is a large volume with 477 pages. A great reference with nice illustrations of several steam engines, Charter gas engine, Fairbanks Morse and a few others. This book measures 7 inches X 9 3/4 inches. There is some wear on the covers and bottom and top of spine. There is also some separation of the binding in a few areas. This is a magneto from a Barco soil tamper. I believe these were made in the 50s or 60s. This mag could be modified to work on an old hit or miss engine. I don't know if this one is functional. You can feel a zap when you actuate the mag, It doesn't feel very strong, I would consider it as a core.

This is a matching set of 4 cast iron wheels. They are 4 5/8 inches in diameter with a 15/16 inch tread. 1- 1/4 inch hub and a 3/4 inch bore. We gave these a quick cleaning with a wire brush to remove the loose dirt and rust, but they still have a little rust on them. There is pitting from old rust on the sides and tread. One wheel has more pitting than the others. Despite the flaws. This is a nice set of wheels. If you have any questions, please ask.

Here is a# 35 Ridgid Hex Wrench made by the Ridge tool co. It is very heavy weighing 18 pounds 14 oz. It is in very good condition. Just a little dirty that will clean up easy with soap and water. It has some paint loss which it could be repainted if you wanted to. Ridgid does not make this size anymore and they work really good on big steam whistles to keep them from getting wrench marks on the connecting hex nuts. David Bradley Experimental Briggs Model U Engine Walk Behind Tractor Hit Miss
I purchased this engine at the auction at the Bradley show last year. I spoke with the owner who worked on the assembly line and his father was a engineer. He was not sure what they used it on! He told me that it was a experimental engine basically test engine for something. Engine has spark and seems to have some compression. I did not run engine but I don't think is would take much to get going. There were several big db collectors there that can attest to the fact this came from a engineer at the David Bradley Plant. Look at gas tank has db red on it and muffler hold down also has the red. The cable and throttle lever also are David Bradley. Cable is aprox 50 inches long. The engine has very nice original paint. Pulley has a very small chip, as shown in pictures, and timing gear has one tooth missing. Gas tank looks very good. Cylinder bore is perfect, NO issues. The bore has no ridges, scoring, or anything, ready to use. I can bolt this engine to a pallet and deliver to Fastenal for shipping. Shipping should run $125-$175 I would say. Original NOS Faris Engineer's Engine Room Cone Fire Pail Hit Miss Gas Steam NICE
This is a real nice original galvanized. Cone type fire pail that would normally be found in an engine room of a factory or shop. It is NOS, new old stock, and has never been used. It was found in the inventory shed of an old hardware store and has some shelf and handling wear from being moved over the years. It also has some surface rust along the top edge but this could easily be buffed out and go fairly unnoticed. It has the original Faris decal on it yet and measures about 12 1/2 inches tall and 13 3/4 inches in diameter. It displays very nicely and would be a conversation piece hanging near your engines in your collection or display. Fire pails were cone shaped so that people wouldn't steal them as they couldn't be set down and used for many other purposes. The pictures tell the story. This is a very hard to find original sales catalog for the Case crossmotor tractors. It measures about 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches with 32 pages including the covers. It is in good condition for its age with some overall wear and staining but all the information is very readable and presentable. It covers the 12-20. 18-32, and 25-45 tractors and gives descriptions and full details of each. It also has the 45hp skid engine in it along with orchard tractors, rice field, industrial, and attachments for all of them. It is jam packed full of information! It would be a fine addition to your early agricultural sales literature collection especially if you like early Case items or have a crossmotor tractor. The pictures tell the story. This auction is for an unusual little old wine glass oiler. I do not believe it was ever used. As it is in excellent condition with no cracks to glass and no wrench marks. It has no makers name that I can find on it anywhere. The glass measures approx. 1 1/4" in diameter at the top, and 1 3/4" tall. Overall the oiler measures approx. 5" tall. Brass strap says its a sumter 3-M No.14. Found this in a ranch dump on the bottom of the pile. It was seized up solid. I oiled it and broke it loose and actually got it to spark a few times flipping it around and I do feel some magnet pull but it will obviously need complete overhaul. It is rusty, the base is intact with some chipping and I think I see some threads in one hole and for sure none in the other. For parts or restore. More pics or questions if you need. Brass Priming Cup Petcock, Hit & Miss Engine / Tractor
Here is a brass priming petcock of the style used on old tractors or engines. There are no identifying marks on it. The cup is 11/16" OD. The thread looks like 3/8"24. But I'm not 100% sure since I didn't type to screw it into anything to check. The handle turns with minor resistance. A nice old part with a few nicks. Antique WOOD BOX for COIL w/MONOWATT SWITCH for Stationary Gas Engine Hit & Miss
This is an original box that was used to hold a ignition coil for an early engine. It is designed to use a standard size 6 volt Model T Ford coil. The copper band in excellent condition. The copper contact strips inside the box are in excellents condition. It has all the original thumb nuts and the original porcelain knife switch on the front. Includes the original porcelain Monowatt knife throw switch with a porcelain base. There is a rating cast into the porcelain base that says 30A 125V. It is in excellent condition and works well. The switch base measures 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" x 5/8" The box overall measurements are 5-3/4" x 4-1/4" x 2-3/4 Model T coils measure 5" x 3-3/16 x 2-1/16"

Original Small ATLAS Rock Crusher Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE
This is an extremely nice original and very hard to find small sized belt driven rock crusher. It is an"Atlas Crusher" made by the Nelson Machinery Company in Vancouver. British Columbia. It is in EXCELLENT original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one of the grease fittings being broken off. I had it out to grease it and it will be easy to replace. It turns over nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings or even on the jaws! It certainly could not have seen much use! The jaw opening is 5 1/2 inches. The overall size of the machine is 20 inches wide x 16 inches long x 20 1/2 inches tall. It has 13 and 14 1/4 inch flywheels on it. One flywheel has v-belt grooves machined into it as it was when it left the factory. It would work just fine with a flat belt on it for show purposes. The flywheels ... morehave the name in raised letters and the crusher has some decent original paint on it yet. The only thing that will require some minor attention is that both adjustment knobs are stuck but I'm sure with a little heat these would loosen up. Everything else seems to work as it should. These little rock crushers are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they are real attractions when they are belted to a hit and miss or steam engine at the shows. They are usually all beat up and full of welds from their years of service! Not this one. It's as close to perfect as you could hope to find. NICE 2 1/2hp Banner hit & miss gas engine on trucks runs excellent Waterloo L@@K
You are bidding on an exceptionally nice. 2 1/2hp Banner engine on a nice cart. I have been told by three fellow engine collectors, that the cart is early, and 100% original. Even has the original wood tongue. I am not a Waterloo expert, but I think they are correct. The engine itself is practically new mechanically. The gears have NO slop and the piston looks like new, same with the valves. I don't come across many engines that have this low of hours. The battery box is 100% original, and has the correct square gas tank built in. Original starting crank is also included. The engine is 100% complete(minus an oiler, one in pictures is not included) with factory crankgaurd, muffler, and pulley. Flywheels run straight as an arrow, and compression is super. I know it sounds like I'm making this engine out to be more than it is, but it ... morereally is in great shape. Only selling to fund another purchase. Only repairs are a weld on the head, and a small dab of solder on the carb which I don't understand why its there. If your looking for an engine that is totally unmolested except for the paint job, you will be hard pressed to find one any nicer. No suprises or rebuilding of any kind required with this engine. Feel free to ask questions. I can deliver this engine to Portland, IN swap meet or show, as well as Coolspring, PA show in June for $35. Old Original John Deere L LA Tractor Sales Brochure Catalog Farm Hit Miss Engine
This is a very hard to find and pretty nice original sales brochure for the John Deere Models L and LA farm tractor. I believe it is one of the earliest advertising pieces from John Deere for these tractors in a combination format. It is in good condition for it's age with some minor wear and soiling with a little heavier wear along the spine. It measures about 8 x 9 inches with 36 pages and covers all of the specifications and features of the tractor. It is heavily illustrated and shows all of the attachments that were available for the tractors including a sweep rake which I've never seen. It has many working illustrations of the tractor and would be a fine addition to your early John Deere tractor advertising collection or display especially if you have an L or LA tractor.
