Great Running Maytag Model 72 Twin Gas Engine Motor not Hit & Miss EXCELLENT
This listing is for a Maytag 72 D twin cylinder engine. The engine is in amazing mechanical and physical condition. It has very strong compression and an extremely strong spark. It has the original Eisemann plug wires and plug wire boots. Both of which are in excellent condition. The original flywheel guard is also still on the engine. This engine is in almost perfect condition for its age(aside from the paint peeling) the flywheel even still shines like new!

Antique Vintage Homelite 700D Chainsaw, 20" Bar, Go-Kart, Hit & Miss Engine
Based upon the information I got from Chainsaw Collectors Corner. This old Homelite model 700D was only manufactured for 1 year(1960-1961) It has a 5.64 cu. inch(92.4cc) engine. The saw is nice and clean and when I primed the carb with mixed gas, it fired right up for a few seconds. The compression still feels nice and strong. The on/off switch works and the air filter is in good, clean condition. The starter recoil works properly and still retains a strong recoil spring that retracts the pull cord quite well. The manual oiler pumps oil as it should. Both the throttle and chain adjuster work great. The large brass bucking spikes(dogs) are in great shape as is the aluminum top handle(no cracks or brakes) The green rubber grip on the top handle is in very good shape as well. Of issue with this old saw is that there is a small chunk of metal ... moremissing from the spark plug corner(see pic) and the muffler cover is missing. Also, one of the bar bolts is not original however, the replacement bolt works well and fits nice and tightly. I also think the starter recoil cover is missing, as well as 2 screws that secure the inside bottom of the gas tank to the frame of the saw(see pics) Additionally, it would appear that a small chunk of cast metal is missing from that mounting point and, of course the saw exhibits the paints chips and scratches typical of an older, used saw. Note: you can still see some of the Homelite decal on the gas tank and ghost image of the 700D decal. I believe the bar is a 20" bar. Even though its overall length is 25" The chain is a little rusty but still very flexible and somewhat sharp. Overall. A bit a TLC could get this old saw running again or it certainly makes a nice"man cave" piece. It would also make a viable parts saw. Restored Domestic 4HP Hit Miss Engine with Pump on Factory Cart
This is 4hp Domestic hit miss engine that I restored. It is mounted on a factory cart with a high-pressure pump. I bead blasted the engine to bare metal. And primed with epoxy primer. The paint is PPG urethane single-stage. The cart was bead blasted and powder coated satin black. The rings and piston look to be factory. The main bearings are newer and very tight. I rebuilt the magneto with original coils, and the spark is very strong. The side shaft and all moving parts are not painted, they are covered in clear grease to keep them from rusting. The faces on the flywheels are nice but not 100% perfect. There are no cracks or welds on the engine. The high-pressure pump was repaired in the past, after the parts were bead blasted I went over every repair to make sure it was done well. The pump has a new piston and seal, the 4 pump plugs could ... moreuse some attention. I shot the video while the engine was cold, I have only ran the engine for about 2 hours since I finished the restoration. It runs great and sounds like a Domestic with lots of clicks and clatter. I think it could run even slower with some tweaking. Take a look at the photos for the condition of the pump parts, and if you have any questions please let me know. I enjoy repairing and restoring antique equipment, I think it's a privilege to work on machines that have been around for nearly 100 years. Old WONDER Cement Mixer Waterloo Fuller Johnson Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Poster
This is a really neat original and probably pretty scarce sales poster from the Construction Machinery Corporation in Waterloo. Iowa, advertising their WONDER cement mixers and other products. It measures about 13 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches and is heavily illustrated. It has some wear and tear from being nearly a century old with wear along the creases and staining but it would still look great in a frame and hanging on your wall or displayed with your engines or equipment. I wouldn't think there's too many of these left to be found in the wild as most of them lost their battle with the wood stove back in the day. The pictures tell the story. You'll like it. Good Luck.

International Harvester Original IHC LA LB Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto H1 3-5 HP
Here is a nice magneto for an LA/LB IHC gas engine. The model on case housing is 8551DX! The mag can be used on any size engine. But the gear is probably for the larger size engine(3-5 HP) 3 1/4" diameter. You can switch out drive gear for conversion to smaller HP engines magneto if needed! If you have a bad mag or your mag is missing- this is a nice original mag. Try to remember that these magnetos are also close to 60 years old or more and I try to select the nicer ones! From the start the mag was completely disassembled/ glass bead blasted/ inspected and cleaned. Then clear coated with high temp paint, then base is painted with IH red prior to assembly and baked@ 250 degrees for 40 minutes for durability while completely apart! Then parts in the mag are replaced as needed. The mag impulse was removed and inspected/ cleaned/ lubed(snaps ... morenice) Front and rear bearings cleaned and repacked with high quality grease. Magnet and ignition coil is very strong! The mag has nice points, nice IHC logo coil cover. When I finished the rebuild, I tested the mag and ran it on a tester. It had a real nice hot blue spark. Its is ready for work or play! The mag in the picture is the one you will receive and I do not reuse pictures! Nothing broken. Welded, repaired or in need of repair. Please see the pictures!

Both tags look to made of brass and measure about 2.25” x 1” and read: Pfanstiehl Coils– CUSHMAN SPECIAL– Patented Pfanstiehl Electric Laboratory. North Chicago, ILL. Old SPROUT WALDRON Stone Mill Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original Sprout Waldron stone grist mill or grain grinder. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It stands about 34 inches tall and made almost entirely of cast iron. Everything seems to work as it should and there doesn't seem to be much wear anywhere on it. It has an oscillating action for the shaker pan. This has to be one one of the most unique designs for a grinder that I've seen and it's one of the smaller ones so it's easy to move around! This would look great powered by a hit and miss engine or steam engine to grind corn. Just think of the ground corn you could sell at the shows! Original stone mills like this are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on this one. The pictures tell the story. Original TAYLOR Dynamo Generator Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!
This is a very hard to find original Taylor Signal Company dynamo or generator. It was built by the Tayor Signal Company in Buffalo. New York or Chicago, Ilinois. It is a rather early design and is very narrow field frame. I'm not an expert on these but it seems to be in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. It turns nicely with very little wear in the bearings. There is some end play in the shaft but I really don't think it would affect its performance. The dynamo measures about 16 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 24 inches long overall. It has some decent original paint on it as can be seen. The original heavy cast brass serial tag says that the generator is a 110/150 volt, 1kw, 7.5 amps, and 1400 rpm. This would look great powered by a hit and miss engine or steam engine to make electricity for a building at a ... moreshow grounds or on your property. Original 110/125 volt generators like this are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on this one. The pictures tell the story. Old Original JACOBSEN Four Cycle Briggs Stratton FH FI Hit Miss Gas Engine NICE!
This is a very hard to fine original Jacobsen four cycle double push rod/rocker arm air cooled gas engine. It was original used on the putting green mower they produced for golf courses. The engine turns over nicely and has some compression but I think there may be a little dirt under a valve. The original gas tank and air cleaner is still on the engine which is quite a rarity. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. ALL of the cooling fins are in great shape which is VERY unusual. This engine was Jacobsen's answer to the popular FH and FI models that were being made by Briggs and Stratton at the time. From the information that I've been given around 1700 of these engines were produced and their mortality rate was quite high! It is missing the shroud as can be seen but these turn up occasionally ... moreand are usually marketed as a Briggs shroud. Included in the sale is the ORIGINAL Jacobsen Putting Green Mower serial tag from the mower that this engine came off of. These serial tags are even more scarce than the engine! This engine should be a pretty straightforward project and would be a great and rare addition to your air cooled engine collection or display! Old Original EDGEMONT HERCULES ECONOMY Hit Miss Gas Engine Clutch Pulley NICE!!
This is a real nice original clutch pulley for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Edgemont Machine Company in Dayton. Ohio. It is a#1 so it could be the smallest one they offered in this style. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. Everything on it works as it should and there seems to be very little wear of any kind. The pulley is 8 inches in diameter and has a 6 inch face. It mounts to every other spoke of the flywheel on a 9 1/2 inch bolt pattern. It should fit on the Hercules/Economy line of engines from 3-12hp. It may also fit on the 2 1/2hp engine. Please measure your engine to be sure it fits your application. It will fit on any engine with an adapter plate. This pulley has some decent original red paint on it and is still rather greasy so I'm sure there's more to be found. Here is a Powell 1 quart brass drip oiler for considering. This hit and miss oiler measures about 12' tall. And about 6' across. It is in very nice shape, but the lower right wood knob is missing. Easy to replace, I would imagine. The glass sight tubes are in nice shape with no cracks. Overall, a very nice piece. Vintage 4 CHAMPION 1 COM Gas Engine SPARK PLUGS Stationary Engine Hit Miss
Here I have 4 CHAMPION SPARK PLUGS 1 COM. USA made, for those old Stationary Engines/Hit& Miss. These measure approx. 2-3/4" long with 1/2 mpt and 1 electrode style. The cool thing about these. The ceramic tip part can be separated from the base. There are 2 with washers and 2 without. No chips nor cracks on the the ceramics, very slight rust spots on the metal of several, which should clean off and not affect the use or display of the plugs.
