Here's a collectible hit& miss engine model. I suspect that it was made by an outfit called Liberty Classics. But I'm not sure of that. You can see the size of the model from the pictures. Its flywheels turn. The paint is in good shape-but it seems to be missing its muffler. I don't know if it's a rare item. But it's a nice one for the collector of miniatures. Offering this single cylinder engine of unknown origin. Cast iron cases. With no damage. Incorrect cylinder, base mount, holes do not line up with case holes. Single valve lifter. Engine would have had atmospheric intake. Piston is cast iron and fits bore 3-1/4" diameter. 3-9/16 cylinder base bore on case. Looks to have a 3-1/2" stroke. Motor mount holes are 10-7/8" x 2" center to center. The only casting numbers are in drive side of case and they are very faint. Looks to be E152. Drive shaft is 7/8" diameter. Old Buckeye #1 Brass Hit and Miss Gas Steam Engine Oiler Train Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original#1 brass oiler made by the Buckeye Brass Works in Dayton. Ohio. It's in decent but not perfect condition for being well over 100 years old. It measures about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 5 inches tall. Everything works as it should. It is missing two small wood knobs but these would be fun to make on a lathe or should be available at your local hobby supply store. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads that are a little suspect where they start but are good where they need to be and tighten down just fine. This oiler has minor wrench marks and blemishes here and there but still displays pretty nicely. The worst blemishes are the chisel marks on the mounting hex. I think this would be quite easy to remedy but putting it in a chuck and milling a smaller hex on it. It would look just fine then. It is a very ... moreunique oiler and would look great on your early gas or steam engine or other piece of machinery. The pictures tell the story. With a little elbow grease it will be pretty nice. Presented for your consideration is this Antique Steam Governor Stationary Traction Oilfield Farm Hit& Miss Engine. This unit came from a steam engine dealer/ collectors estate and it was labeled as a Gardner however I can not assure you of this information. The markings that I can locate appear to be a patent date of"DEC 27 1883" It turns ok and looks to be in good working condition. This is a large governor that stands 19" tall overall. The balls are 2 1/2" diameter. Gears are good. The adjustment turns and is not stuck. Belt drive pulley is 2 7/8" diameter overall with a 2 5/8" wide belt width. Here is a nice early IHC pocket operators guide for all the IHC engines. Dated 1910 put out by International Harvestor 55 pages plus memo pages. 4 inch X 6 inch. The front and back covers and binding in good shape. Does have some water marks and page corners torn out in the book but all the pages are there and complete. This auction is for 2 Vintage Used Porcelain Knife Switches found in our upstate N.Y family barn. The larger switch with base measurement 3 7/8" L x 2 3/16" W. Is rated at 25A/ 125V, and marked"Leviton, Made in U.S.A" with copper blades and brass screws. Condition: Old Tarnished Patina on metal parts. The item is as found with some dirt and grime. There are no missing screws. Or porcelain chips, or cracks. The additional switch is smaller. With a base that measures 1 1/8" x 3 1/8" marked"GPCO, Made in U.S.A. 5001" Condition: quite a few chips around the base. Lay your log on the hinged table and push it into the blade to cut the log. This came from a local estate. No markings but I have been told it was made by John Deere. This was once attached. By a belt, to a tractor or hit and miss engine and was used to cut firewood. Everything seems to work as it should. By the angle this is sitting on I believe it is missing part of the legs on one side or perhaps it was set up for a three point hitch. Not a difficult fix if you wanted to use this saw. Nice old Lonergan 386 oiler. In nice original condition. With what's appears to be a nice nickel on brass plating most of which is still present. Does have some dirt and oxidation through out but could be cleaned to be much nicer. Does have some dirt inside the bowl and appears to have two seals inside the bowl that will need replaced. No cracks or chips in the glass pieces. Could be used as is as a nice collector piece or restored to a functional oiler again. I do not have any way to test this piece nor do I know how it operates. An Early Columbus Machine Co. Catalog in"as found" original condition. This 23-page booklet measures 9 1/4" x 7 1/4" and is complete. I would date it around 1900 or so. It lists the various Stationary(2-6 H.P. Portable and Electric type engines that were manufactured by this company during this time period. The front cover has a dealer sticker from Seaman& Merkel, Fleetwood, PA. This booklet shows some signs of use, discoloration and a few pages with light soiling. Very nice running 1 1/2hp Lauson hit & miss gas engine on skids show ready L@@K!
You are bidding on a very nice. 1 1/2hp Lauson. The engine runs great and is mechanially very nice. It has great compression, and NO cracks breaks or welds that I can find. The previous owner went through this engine and he did a great job. It is mounted on incredibly nice, oak skids. It has a very nice gas tank. The pulley on it has been bushed, to fit the crankshaft but whoever did it, did an amazing job. The only drawback to this entire engine, is it's missing the nameplate, but I'm sure somebody is making them new. The engine is totally complete, with the pulley, crankgaurd, and muffler. This engine has never been abused. The only thing that it could use is maybe a new wristpin and bushing if you don't want to hear a little clunking. The only reason you can hear the clunking like you do is because the solid flywheels amplify ... moreevery noise inside the crankcase. This engine is about as nice as you could hope for. If you don't mind a little wrist pin noise, which 90% of engines have, then this engine is ready for the shows. This was an engine in my personal collection, but need to sell off some engines to fund other projects. Brand new grease cups on everything, and it has the hard to find tin oiler! I can deliver this engine to Portland, IN swap meet or show, as well as Coolspring, PA show for $35. I can also strap this engine and deliver to Fastenal to be shipped for $40. Shipping should run between $125 and $175. I can also store the engine here for up to 6 months for free, we are located 100 miles north of Detroit. Feel free to ask questions. Witte side shaft hit and miss engine 9hp circa1905/1910 hopper cooled
This is a 9hp Witte side shaft engine dated between 1905/1910 as the factory records were lost. From a list compiled that is as near as the date can be established. There are eight 9hp engines known and some are tank cooled and this one is hopper cooled. The flywheels measure 39 1/2" and the serial number is 5041 and they are stamped from the factory to show valves opening and closing as well as the ignition. Most all the numbers i can find on the parts match the serial number. It has a round connecting rod that can be adjusted for the amount of compression needed for the fuel used and it has a lot of compression. No know cracks. Breaks or welds on the engine and the gasoline valve was just replaced. I have ran the engine but not since the new valve was installed. It is ignitor fired with a coil and battery. A couple of things that could ... morebe fixed are the intake valve could use a new bushing and the roller for the exhaust valve is worn but neither of these will affect the running. Also a couple of spokes are rusted almost through from sitting in the dirt but it does not hinder from pulling the engine. I replace eight bolts that hold the axles on one side as the old rivets were rusted almost through. I would get it to a shipped in Dallas or Fort Worth at no cost for shipping overseas but would not be responsible for any shipping arrangements or crating costs or shipping. It can be stored here for a while but must be paid for at the end of auction. This engine has been in collectors hands for many years and just now is coming up for sale. Questions are welcome and if serious. Call and leave a message and i will return all calls in the evening. 940-686-3615. Antique Briggs & Stratton Motor MODEL FH Hit and Miss washing machine gas engine
This is a really rare. Nice old kick-start washing machine motor made by Briggs and Stratton. It is Model# FH Serial# 50538. The Patent Date is: 9-21-26. I tried looking up the serial number, and the information I found says it was actually manufactured in 1928. This little engine is truly a barn find that I picked up years ago. Other than the oil I put in the cylinder after pulling the spark plug, it is just as I found it, spider webs, dust and dirt and all. It turns over well, seems to have good compression, and gave me a jolt when I grabbed the plug while turning it over. I didn't try to start it because I have been told it is not good for older engines like this that have been sitting for a long time to try to start them before cleaning up the gas tank, carburetor, etc. It looks like an easy restoration with no dents, dings, or damage ... moreanyplace that I can see. If you want a rare engine that is a true survivor from the good ole days for that special project, washing machine restoration, or unique antique engine collection this may be just what you are looking for. Here is a great engine pulley made by Keystone that is in top-notch condition and is adjustable. There is very little light surface rust on this if any and it shows signs of having seen little use but was well cared for-inside surfaces are smooth! Every thing is free and working as it should. The wood inserts are in great shape and look almost new when you take them out to have a look! The shaft hole size is 1 1/2" in diameter.The pulley measures 7" in diameter and is 4 7/8" wide. As stated. It is made by Keystone and you can still se the original decal inside-tried to show you in the pictures. Here I have 2 used vintage WICO MAGNETOS. The yellow one is a WICO model X with XH 150 and serial no. 159370 and has real good strong spark(I know it bit me! The resistance when trying to snap is very strong. The other one is a FAIRBANKS MORSE model X(information shared by a knowledgable fellow Ebayer) altho it does not have the metal tag. Rivets are there but no tag. It comes with the distributor that has an FM embossed in the center. The resistance when trying to snap it is very strong but didn't have a proper wire to make a good test for spark These magnetos were used on many different types of engines ie: stationary engines. Old IHC 1 1/2 M Hit Miss Gas Engine Cast Iron Magneto Gear Steam Tractor Ignitor
Real nice original cast iron magneto drive gear for a 1 1/2hp International Harvester Type M ignitor fired gas engine. It is original IHC part number 9679T. It has a 3/8 inch hole for the magneto armature shaft and the keyway is in great shape. The gear measures about 2 5/8 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch face and has 30 teeth all of which are in great shape. It almost looks like this gear was never used. It has no cracks. Breaks, or repairs and is ready to be put to work on an engine. If you need one to complete a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, this is a nice one. The pictures tell the story. Old Hercules Economy Hit Miss Gas Engine Webster Magneto Ignitor Bracket Steam
This is an original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for a 1 1/2hp Hercules or Economy hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is bracket number 303M1 and is in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except that it needs a new holder spring for the advance lever and an oiler cup which are available from several of the hobby suppliers. This should be an easy repair. The movable shaft has very little wear on it and the points look great. There is some pitting on the top of the flange but this would fill easily and not be noticed if you were to paint the bracket. It doesn't affect the performance of it. With a little time and attention this could be a perfect ignitor bracket. It mounts with two 7/16 inch holes about 1 3/4 inches apart on center. Complete Old Webster Diecast Base Type M Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto No Cracks
This auction is for a complete old Webster type M diecast base magneto. There are no cracks that I can see anywhere. And the mounting threads are good on the bottom which are hard to find with good threads. The bushings are loose though, and it will need to be rebushed. Very rebuildable old magneto. This is a decent original Penberthy"SUREDROP" oiler for a hit and miss gas engine. Steam engine, or other piece of machinery. It is in good used condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs of any kind. It needs a little cleaning, new glasses and gaskets but that's the fun part. It is not marked but is undoubtedly a SUREDROP because of the base. It is about 2 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches tall overall. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads and they are in great shape. There are some wrench marks on the hex which would buff out a bit if you so choose. It has a vent tube and a check ball so this was originally for the cylinder of a gas engine. It is missing the filler cap which is likely available quite inexpensively from several of the hobby suppliers. This is a high quality brass oiler that hardly ever comes up for sale. Hercules 1 1/2 Hit and Miss gasoline engine. This is an earlier design with the oval hopper and the ignitor" make and break" ignition.Using a Webster Tri- polar Oscillator magneto. I've been collecting,repairing,buying and selling one cylinder engines for about 30 years,long enough to be able to know that,nice original, unmolested,engines are getting harder to find. I've sold several"Restored" engines to folks that later have indicatd they would like to also have one that is still original and in good running condition. I have several such engines in my collection,and am offering this one for sale,only because my space is maxed out. I hate to leave an engine outside under a tarp. Everything about this engine is original,including the Hercules cart it's sitting on.
