When the sun catches the males neck it almost looks royal purple. It is hard to describe but it is a deep and rich color. The peahens are similar to india blue peahens but their body feathers are much lighter and their necks are a wonderful purple hue instead of the green. Their body feathers due fade to even lighter as the summ er progresses making the purple plumage stand out even more. The hens are pied. Which may or may not come out in the offspring but all chicks should carry the pi ed gene and therefore ma ke good br eeding stock for future generations. You will receive one egg from the purple pied pen. India blue peafowl are the most commonly recognized variety. Often seen in zoos and on TV. The se birds are not rare. Quite simply they are the original peacocks in this country. And what most people envision when they think of peacocks. One egg from the ind ia blue pen will be inclu ded.
